Yeah, except..

This was not a goaltending battle. It was a boards battle. They outplayed us. Simple.

On to 2 teams that are epically bad. If we lose against those teams then we definitely have a problem. Go .500 in the last 2 games and think the flames are in good shape.

Too much freaking out after a loss. This is ALL gravy folks, enjoy it!
Playing the Kings next week will be our most difficult game. That's the one we have to win if we have any hopes of a playoff spot.

I just don't see why someone completely gives up, tells everyone it's over, and then comes back to nit pick over and over. I think it sucks and said so. If telling him he sucks crosses the line, I retract it, but what is there to debate with someone who has that attitude? You just know as soon as we are out or eliminated he'll be there with 'told you so's'
So put him on ignore.
You don't get to tell other posters "they suck".
Put him on ignore or knock it off. Those are your choices.

You're missing the point of what I was saying. We were outplayed badly by the Hawks early in the season and Hiller put on a goaltending display to steal us 2 points. Imagine if we had that elite style of goaltending tonight? Could have walked away from tonights game and maybe stole a point we didn't deserve.

So imagine if our goal tender saved all 43 shots on goal, against one of the best teams in the league? Be realistic..We deserved to lose tonight.

That game sucked royally.

There is no team more fun to take out our anger on than the Oilers...so let's do that.

Bennett seems to be the kind of player who will run head first through a wall. That could be just the spark that we need for the rest of the season.

Without Hiller, the game would have likely been 6-1 or 7-1. We were dominated and were still in the game for the vast majority of it...all because of Hiller.

You're crazy if you think Hiller didn't provide elite goaltending for this game.

You should really blame our secondary scoring. Every time they don't show up we lose.

Elite tenders don't allow soft goals in crucial games.

I can't believe you're actually pinning this loss on Hiller.

If Diaz is injured do you bring up Wotherspoon with the last recall or play Potter? Also is Morrison able to be called up this year?

John Shannon @JSportsnet
Don't expect any supplemental discipline for Flames' Bollig on his hit from behind on Blues' Jackman. Penalty on ice was enough.

Let's hope his punishment comes from Hartley. I'd be happy to see him benched for the rest of the regular season.

We're ahead of 2 teams at this moment so no, that's not true.

I got the bad feeling we will have a bad night then we won't get any help from that terrible team from the North against LA.

I can't really blame on Hiller on the lost but the first two goals was stoppable especially the first goal. Hiller seems to play crappy early in the game then he plays much, much better in the middle of the game and he seems to be challenging the shots. He made some great saves especially in the third period. I didn't see the Brandon Bollig boarding major penalty because I had to do something. What the heck happened? The PP goal St. Louis was actually the difference because the Flames couldn't recover from it. Steve Ott got away with slashing Hudler while the Flames are on a power play and down 2-1 with 1:40 left on the PP. Not sure if the referee saw it or they just put a blind eye but if the penalty was called the outcome of the game might be different.
Faceoff just plain brutal. Monahan got beat by Stastny so many times and so as the others like Backlund, Colborne, Stajan and Granlund. Need to improve the faceoff battle in the next few games. I did not see much of Granlund in the 3rd and even Engelland wasn't playing with Brodie much in the 3rd. I guess Hartley went with 3 lines. Oh we lost tonight and we are still 1 point ahead on both LA and Winnipeg. I actually predicted that we are going to lose this game so it doesn't sting much. 4 more games(2 games vs teams playing for McDavid sweepstakes) and 2 games against teams they are fighting for playoff spot. This is probably the most exciting finish for the Flames in a very long time. Last time they fought for playoff spot until the end and made it was in 2004.

Meh. That team is a power house, and so much better than we are. That's ok though, because we just started rebuilding and are nowhere near the finished product yet.

Have to beat EDM and PHX. If we can't beat those two sad sack teams, playoffs aren't deserved anyways.
