				 Sunglasses

I am in need of a new pair of sunglasses after an unfortunate event on my last trip where the ocean stole my old pair. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to go in town? Are there any good places online? I will be going to Vegas next month, is it worth it to wait and buy from the outlet malls there? Or maybe you just want to show off your sunglasses and rub it in my face that I don't have any.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I found the outlet malls in Vegas to be nothing special. There are definitely deals to be had, but there are deals to be had in every Mall in the USA & Canada.
I don't live in Calgary anymore, so that is my only contribution to the thread.

I'm pretty sure if you're looking for decent brands, online is going to be your best bet. Maybe try some on and find the model number and purchase online. Ray Bans from Sunglass Hut cost $200 and you can find them online for half that.

I'd be worried about what your real savings would be based on dollar exchange and what not.
Also what do you like to wear?

Be careful of fakes online though (if you care).

You'll find that for the designer brands, they'll hardly ever really go on sale and they're pretty much the same price wherever you go. Spareparts, Sunglass Hut, Watch It, etc.

With the current US $ exchange rate, you may be just as smart to buy a pair here than in Vegas. Maui Jim arguably makes the best quality sunglasses these days, they are a bit pricey but worth it. Lenscrafters sells them and some other retailers in Calgary malls too. If price point is more important to you than the best quality, go to Costco. Nobody beats Costco for those same sunglasses they sell there for some reason.

I buy the cheapass $10 brand because I don't deserve anything higher end. Guaranteed it will break or get lost.

I always get sunglasses from MEC. They have lots of options from super cheap to fairly expensive. They also have a great return/exchange policy.

I bought a few pairs of "Raybans" at the Silk Market last year for 7 bucks a piece. I should have bought more.
Sorry, useless contribution. I just really miss my "Raybans".

Just don't wear them on top of your head all of the time, and after dark. |

Arnette and Maui Jim are good suggestions. I personally go with Raybans for the style I wanted, but I had a durable as hell Arnette pair. Polarized lenses. That's all I will suggest.
The US is pretty good price wise, but I'd probably consider going online and using a reputable dealer rather than wait on Vegas as others have suggested. Umm... Amazon.ca? Should be better than Sunglasshut etc price wise (at least when I last checked in December) Costco if they have some would often be great deals too.

I highly recommend Oakley sunglasses. White ones to be specific. And the will look super rad when they are on the back of your head, especially when you are walking your pit bull, or driving you lifted Hemi Ram.

Do you have a health insurance plan that covers vision? If so, then you may be eligible for a free pair. I get a new one every year.

I just bought a pair of Maui Jim Peahi glasses from Glenmore Vision at Glenmore landing. They were cheaper there than online, or anywhere else that I looked.
