Speaking of hideously disgusting images and Johnny Gaudreau, the Leafs had the 100th overall pick in the 2011 Draft. And picked Tom Nilsson. Of course, Johnny was picked by the Flames at 104.

Can you imagine if the Leafs had snagged Johnny Hockey? Okay, maybe don't do that...

Lets just stick to imagining things that are realistic. Like watching the Leafs go another 48 years without winning a Stanley Cup.

Typical questions from the Leafs media. This time they went after Burke

Media: We asked Burke moments before the opening faceoff what he thinks when he sees the Leafs now.

Burke: “It’s none of my business,” Burke said. “I don’t think (Leafs president) Brendan Shanahan needs my advice. I’m a Flame. I don’t work for them anymore.”

Media: But does Burke have any regrets about his moves as Leafs general manager?

Burke: “I see no reason to comment on anything,” Burke said. “I don’t feel I have to defend anything I did there. I left a playoff team.”

Man what a great game. That Stajan for Phaneuf trade was a steal for us in hindsight.

He probably still thinks Kessel is better than Zetterberg and Datsyuk.

Yeah, I was at the game tonight. All I could think of after that hilarious first period was how much pity I had for Leaf fans. They are a horrible, terrible, terrifyingly inept team. It's tough to see how they turn this around.

Prediction time: next year Toronto finishes last in the east, potentially last in the NHL.

Sometimes deleting someone off your roster works out entirely in your favour. I'd easily take all 4 of Gio, Russell, Wideman and Brodie over Dion and it's not even close.

Flames embarrassed the Leafs tonight. I hope they will be so ticked off tomorrow night and beat the Canucks.

I don't think Leafs put up a fight at all. Flames beat them on the board all night and even beat on the puck battles a lot. Leafs are just a brutal team. Just love it when the fans were booing Phaneuf every time he touches the puck. Poor guy he was once a fan favourite in Calgary and now one of the most hated player in the NHL.

I am loving the way the 1st line is getting hot lately. It is so much fun to watch these 3 making plays. It is even fun seeing Wideman, Russell or Brodie joining in making plays. 9 points for that line. That was amazing!! Even the TSN panel been talking about them. Bob McKenzie was even joking around saying they might win the Cup this season but Dutch was laughing saying no way. I know there were joking around but it is kind of nice that they are starting to notice the Flames.

Okay, I wish I knew how to grab screen shots and upload them, but I don't. So all I can do is tell you what I am looking at right now.

I have a frozen screen shot of the Bouma hit at the moment of contact. Kozan is already past Bouma. Their skates collide (they hook feet). Bouma's knee is not only not making contact, it is actually turned INWARD. And Kozun's knee is past it. Kozuns skate catches Bouma's skate and Kozun then does the full pirouette.

There is no knee contact. None. Bouma's knee doesn't ever touch Kozun. Bouma's knee moves outward after the hit, because Kozan's skate pulls Bouma's leg backwards.

Nonetheless, he hit a Leaf, so it will probably be a suspension.

something i'll add. I listened to most of the game as I drove to Edmonton from Calgary. I missed part of the first period.

The Derek Wills and Peter Loubardias tandem has gotten much better. Their chemistry is getting there and they were great to listen to. Wills has really toned down the "I need to prove myself" attitude and Loubardias flat out loves watching and talking about hockey. I credit their growth to Loubardias who bit his tongue a lot early in the season when Wills was getting carried away (imo).

In any event, they are there now and called a great game tonight. Kudos to them for working on their craft as well.

Not sure how to embed it, but TSN gave some love to the Flames, and a tongue lashing to the Leafs in their postgame wrap-up.

It's surprising to you they bashed the Leafs?
