Believe that is a reference to Mikael Granlund getting a stamp for a goal he scored at the World Championships
I would assume it's in reference to the Forsberg stamp, especially given the deke:

It's a reference to Forsberg who basically invented the move.

Just saw Monahan played 27:39..

that might be the highest ice time for a forward this year for the flames.

Monahan is just incredible.

What are his advanced stats like? Defensive zone starts? Draw wins in the defensive and neutral zone?

He just seems all over the ice at all times. Remarkable player.

Also, I forget when it was now, midway point of the second? Gaudreau made an incredible pass to Monahan that he just double cluthced on, but the pass was just incredible. Sorry AC, I don't have a time stamp for you but I'm thinking around 13:30 in the 2nd? Gaudreau slips a pass right through Chara along the ice to Monahan just below the faceoff dot on the opposite side of the ice. Amazing play if that puck goes in.

“So he just asked me, ‘Are you good at these things?’ ” said Schlemko. “I told him I was one-for-one (in his NHL career).”

Overhearing the conversation and wanting to ensure Schlemko’s involvement, Russell piped up.

He gave his old Medicine Hat Tigers teammate a vigourous vouching.

“I don’t know if they took that into consideration.”
Quote:
“I just went out there and tried my move,” said Schlemko. “And it worked. It was a little risky … but I thought I might as well go for it.”

Russell, for one, was not shocked by the dangle.

“I saw it in junior a lot,” he said. “He has a few variations of it, actually. Pretty nifty. It had a lot of boys surprised on the bench.”
Quote:
Schlemko’s deke, reminiscent of Peter Forsberg’s classic shift (which Sweden’s post office commemorated), led Hartley to crack: “I think he’s going to get a stamp.”

Not a bad debut for a fellow searching for an NHL home.

“Pretty special,” said Schlemko. “It’s feels good to come in and be able to contribute right away.”

I knew he's good, but I didn't realize that Russell has 43 more blocked shots than any other player in the NHL this season.

That's crazy. Wideman and Brodie are 6th and 7th overall in blocked shots too.

Not verbatim, but here's the post-game interview with Hartley:

Hartley: I asked David if he was any good at this. He said "Well, I'm 1 for 1." And I thought, that's pretty good. And then Russell said "He's really good".
@boringseanmonahan: so David said coarch I'm good in shootouts, and coach said okay, we won i had fun

Really late to the game, but I just finished watching.
Did schlemko drop an f-bomb in the post game interview with millions?
Edit: he definitely did

This is what the Flames look like this season (Image won't embed, installing software to properly post these): http://war-on-ice.com/playertable.ht...splitseasons=1

Mony is definitely creeping up towards Gio Brodie levels for Corsi and relative competition and succeeding with it!

Wow only 2:44 of icetime for Jones and 4:48 for Poirier. I get that Poirier is a rookie but Jones - injured? Sorry if I missed that earlier in the thread.

Don't think this has been mentioned yet either but the Flames last scored in Boston in 2006, their last win in Boston? 2003. Curse breakers!
