I'd also add the entire Leafs roster to that list. No guarantees any of them move but they're all in play and I'm interested to see what happens there.

I'd sling a 3rd and a Hanowski to Buffalo for Chris Stewart. He looks better now that he can see the light at the end of the tank tunnel.

I wouldn't be adverse to adding Coburn if the price was right.

Almost seems like teams have intentionally shut our the Bruins, forcing them to overpay. They're in a cap crunch too so they're kind of between a rock and a hard place in terms of deadline deals.

Last word was they are looking for an overpayment:

Andy Strickland @andystrickland
Word is Buffalo looking for 2nd and high-end prospect for Chris Stewart #sabres

So, 2nd + Granlund? More?

No way no how would I be a happy camper if Granlund was moved for Chris fracking Stewart. Let Buffalo rot if thats what they think they could get.

Oh no kidding. Just trying to get an idea of what kind of 'high-end prospect' they're thinking of for Steward. I'd loose my (albeit terribly cooked) dinner if that went down.

I don't even think that's a conversation worth starting, Buffalo isn't going to get anything close to that for Stewart. At least I hope not. Even if Boston was desperate I don't think they'd pay that kind of premium for that particular player.

Then again who knows, he's the last of the notable available forwards on the market and tomorrow is insanity day.

Just hate the idea of moving Granlund for a terrible player.

2nd and a prospect for Stewart my ass. I'd offer Max and that's about it.

Maybe Boston will trade for Jokinen, and the B's will miss the playoffs on a failed shootout attempt.

At this point you drop some low offers and see if anyone is a "take what you can" GM.

Chiarelli on the hotseat might be in a take or leave it scenario and looking to save his job.

I wonder if Buffalo ends up getting a 1st from Boston for Stewart.

Granlund for Stewart would be horrible, but as mentioned I could see Boston going all out to try and do something.

I wouldn't mind Stewart, there's a good chance he could fill a need here. But Hanowski + 3rd is really about as much as I'd swallow.

I have a question about the process for clearing waivers which I'm not familiar with.

Earlier today I heard Rene Bourque was waived by the Ducks. Assuming no team picks him up and he clears waivers, does that mean the Ducks have to buy him out? If so what would be the next step for Bourque assuming no team signs him? I assume down to the minors?

In hindsight, it was a blessing that we're in the playoff race re: Glencross. It allowed Treliving to turn away lowball offers with the response "we'll just keep him for the stretch drive, you can pound sand".
