Chicago police secret "Black site"
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...ans-black-site
Quote:
The Chicago police department operates an off-the-books interrogation compound, rendering Americans unable to be found by family or attorneys while locked inside what lawyers say is the domestic equivalent of a CIA black site.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...s-human-rights
Quote:
The US Department of Justice and embattled mayor Rahm Emanuel are under mounting pressure to investigate allegations of what one politician called “CIA or Gestapo tactics” at a secretive Chicago police facility exposed by the Guardian.

well ... I mean that's the logical next step when there's no repercussions at the federal level.

Chicago is an awesome city to visit.
To live there, and not be rich, what a mess. Where to start, the gang violence is so out of control, thugs go around just shooting anywhere/anytime. Many kids have been killed or injured due to these losers.
Then you have the police who are basically dealing with domestic terrorist gang bangers. Not to excuse this, but "Chi-raq" is a mess. Police have little comtrol of some areas. Just a situation people from Calgary won't get and luckily so.

I visited Chicago last year over a weekend. I stayed downtown so there was tons to see and do within walking distance. I didn't feel unsafe at all; that being said I wasn't out late at night and I'm sure the city has its own shady areas I didn't see. Had a great time, friendly people and the food was good. I'm sure they have gangs but every major US city has them.
The next part of the trip was Detroit - now that's a city with crime problems.....

When I was in Chicago i was walking along Michigan Ave at 2am and it felt very safe. Then I took a wrong turn with my head buried in my map. Walked half a block before lifting my head and I have never felt more at risk. It was nuts.

Chicago had 82 shootings over the July 4th weekend in 2014. They have around 500 murders a year....which a lot, but per capital they are only the 21st most dangerous place in the country. The most dangerous places tend to be smaller mid-sized cities.
The solution is probably more guns.

Perhaps vacationing Russians who want to bring their Kalashnikovs on holidays with them would find Chicago a more preferable destination than Kiev?

South Chicago to Gary Indiana is possibly the scariest crime filled 25 miles in North America..If you have canadian plates don't even stop for gas during the daylight(certainly not at night).
They know you won't have a gun.

Funny I thought that our southern neighbor displaying police state tactics remainsent of a fascist state would be more repulsive to you guys.

We are equally 'repulsived' with our ally across the Atlantic who was/is creeping on couples during their yahoo video chats and eavesdropping on conversations with suspects and their lawyers.
Also, today I learned that 'repulsived' is a made up word!

And better gang naming skills, conservative vicelords, that makes no sense what so ever.

You'd rather deal with them than the Liberal Vicelords, trust me.
