Mason raymond would be a better fit as a kane replacement....

For the Flames to make the playoffs not only do they have to pick up on their 11 pts in the last 10 but some other team has to come back to them.

For the Flames to make it the teams that have been slumping (San Jose and Dallas) have to avoid going on a winning streak.... no reason to expect them to.

Right now with the Kane injury the Hawks would be a team that might have trouble down the stretch....

They won't be as good without him even if they do get Glencross (or Raymond)

Expectations in Chi, now, are TT gets recalled and gets a look on the top 2 lines...perhaps at #2 C with Sharp and Versteeg...
Kane's injury really hurts Richards, and expectations are that he gets a reduced role...

Now that Kane's cap dollars are freed by LTIR, the expected moves, by 'Hawk fans, for Bowman all involve beefing up the D...Oduya hurt, and has stunk, Roizval and Rundblad have been a D-Zone disaster...TVR comes back, and a move is to get a partner for Hjarlmasson.

It looks to me like Kane kinda flopped, but in a disastrous spot.

He appeared to catch his right edge, just as he was crosschecked in the back...only a hard core cynic would call that a flop

I said that Raymond is the type of player that Kane is.

Small fast good skater talented and non-aggressive. Hudler and Baertschi and Gaudreau are a similar type.

None are close to being as good as Kane. Chicago has room fore a similar type of player to fit in Kane-lite so to speak.

Kane is good at holding onto the puck and making defenders look ridiculous. Raymond doesn't do either of those things.

So who would be Kane-lite?

Why does there have to be a "Kane-lite"?

Chicago Blackhawks @NHLBlackhawksPatrick Kane undergoes successful surgery, full recovery anticipated in approx. 12 weeks.

12 weeks means he will back in early May.

Which might as well be next season for the Hawks. Maybe they'll get by without him, but this might just as easily be a devastating blow to the Hawks' playoff chances.

I don't know what you're seeing, but I see literally no similarities between Kane and Raymond as players...

I wonder if Chicago decides that this isn't there year and doesn't add anything at the deadline, given that Kane may not be back until the 3rd round of the playoffs (if they get that far).
