Not Sure Walkers sources but I wonder if Glencross will waive? Maybe if he gets to play with Backstrom and Ovie

Caps have all their own picks plus extra third, fourth and seventh rounders.

....and no we aren't getting Bowey unless we add haha.

LA has won 2 cups in the last three years. The difference between them making it and not is likely not Glencross. They turn it on when they need too. The Flames destiny is in their own hands and as good as we've been this year we're going to be in tough to make the playoffs as it stands. At the end of the day though we need to think long term so making decisions based on this year is short sighted. If we can flip Glencross for a pick or player that will help us build a contender I don't care where he goes. Demand for him isn't really high combined with limited trading partners. We need to take the best deal regardless of the team.

No, could be just a pick. But other players like Orlov or Galiev come to mind. Would be extremely pleased if either were to come to the Flames.

EDIT: Glencross would fit well in a Trotz team too. Something he should consider.

If you're going to do it, and its pretty clear they are, get it and that borderline distraction, done before Monday. That way, Treliving can focus on Monday bolstering the team for a playoff race with teams that change course and prices suddenly drop.

Bolstering the team? Highly doubt that is his concern unless the player helps long term.

I am not sure Walker is reporting anything different than Friedman was yesterday.

Well I agree I wouldn't get that, it would be just be my price for LA (I would actually demand Kempe as per my post, surprised you didn't take exception to that since Kempe > McKeown+2nd IMO). I would also charge teams like Minnesota, SJ, Van more too. It would look pretty bad if LA beat us for the last playoff spot by 1 point with Glenny playing a key role, all so we could add just one B prospect, the 50th overall pick in a weak draft. A pick whose stock has dropped last season and has continued to drop though his miserable draft+1 season. No thanks, we can do a lot better AND not surrender the battle with the kings. That's like something the oilers would do.

You are right though, it looks like Bergy may have helped set the market and a 2nd is likely a best case scenario now. Too bad, the flames seem to always miss the boat on stuff like this. A team like Buffalo cleans up on every single trade (expect the Kane trade, didn't like that for Buffalo) where the flames have seemingly fumbled the ball at every opportunity when it comes to tuning over the old Iginla core. I realize this is before Treliving, but I really want to see something good come of this. If Chris Stewart gets a better, or even comparable return to Glencross, I'm going to punch things.

I don't care about their 2 cups, we are tied in the standings right now and they have 2 games in hand and I still want to make the playoffs. There has seriously got to be somewhere else he can go. Think of it this way, if all offers are comparable, would you still trade him to LA? Surely you could get a McKeown from Boston, Tampa, Montreal, NYR etc. He's not even that great of a prospect, he's regressed a lot this year and usually that's a bad sign. Don't even want to hear Kingston isn't that good, because if McKeown was good enough he would still find a way to stand out in spite of playing on a mediocre team.

I really hope McKeown isn't the best offer, I'd rather trade Glenny with a 7th to eastern team for a 3rd than make that trade with LA. McKeown would have to be the sweetener to me, not the main piece coming back. Again, I would totally take a 2nd from an eastern team. Hopefully it's at least a 3rd+4th.

Well I guess that's where we differ in opinion. I think things are going to play out for both teams the way they will and I don't think Glencross is the difference maker for either. I want them to take the best deal possible regardless of the team.

Yes, agree to disagree I suppose, no biggie it happens. Glad it can be amicable unlike most of the disputes around here which usually amount to one or both sides trying to barb the other with zippy one liners, clearly trying to accumulate some 'thanks' from people that are so passive aggressive they can't even type something out but still want to be part of the mudslinging.

Not only is it most likely affecting Glencross's play, but the Flames straight up need to bolster the lineup.

The bottom 6 D and bottom 6 forwards group need some effective players added asap if Playoffs are gonna be a thing,

Agreed. However this is a big test for him, he can't mess this up. These are the types of trades that will begin to define his legacy, and color his reputation with other managers in the short term. I'm just worried Mr. Glass is going to sprain his ankle or twist his knee before Treliving acts. That's exactly the type of luck this franchise seems to have at times.
