No doubt. But the other poster was suggesting that they are sitting him in case he gets the call mid game or just before. If that was the case they would have told him to stay home until the birth.

Need Ramo to make this a tandem again. Hoping we get 2-3 really strong starts from him

It is really unfortunate about Ortio, with both Ramo and Hiller kind of struggling you have to wonder if he would have been called up if he wasn't injured.

I know it is kind of sucks getting called up a few weeks ago and always the healthy scratch. I am not questioning Hartley's decision but I just feel for Potter.

No, I said he had a very pregnant wife. I never even said anything about sitting him. I said his wife was very pregnant and he was probably waiting for the call.

You made the assumption about the rest.

Interesting Byron has not practiced yet, but the Flames still haven't put him on IR for a call up from Adirondack. Byron was reported to be wearing a walking boot a few days ago.

Treliving confirmed that Smid has begun skating again, presumably before the main group skates.
I can report that Byron was not wearing a walking boot yesterday.

I can see the confusion though, as this was the post you were responding to.

That would seem to imply that you were suggesting he's possibly being scratched because he's waiting for the call. In fact the only way to interpret your post is that you were relating it to a possible reason for being scratched.

If the Flames do not make the playoffs, the goaltending will be the soft spot. Inconsistent is the word I am looking for here.

It's a season like this where I miss Kipper. Some stability in net would be huge. Wasn't he still under contract this year? Or did his contract expire last season?

hmm, curious to see ramo starting. He's been pretty meh in his last few starts. Hope he can turn it around, as i think goaltending quality will play a major role on this roadtrip and the playoff chances altogether.

13-14 was the last year of his contract.
