Glencross for a 1st seems unattainable, we'd definitely have to add IMO.

Far worse players have been traded for 1st rounders. Don't count that return out.

per Steve Zipay, Rangers are interested in Glencross.
Rangers don't have a 1st, but they do have two 2nd round picks (theirs and Tampa's).
Untouchable prospects according to Zipay are Duclair, Buchnevich, and Skeji.
Should also be noted no one has reported that the Rangers are on Glencross' list.
edit: also forgot to mention that a Flames scout was watching the Canucks/Ranger game Thursday.

I like the interest in Glenny. Drive up the price teams.

To all those people that think we can get a 1st for Glencross, and just Glencross....
I want some of that stuff you're smoking.

And it also shuts down the "Glencross is terrible" advocates on the site.

Just spit-balling here but its been rumored for a while that the Rangers might move John Moore who they have been using as a 7th defenceman at times.
So maybe Glencross for Moore + pick?
Moore isn't the smartest d-man and takes some stupid penalties sometimes.

Or Glencross for Moore + Kristo, if the flames have an interest in him. TBH I don't know enough about Moore, other than he was a part of the Nash trade. If he is more prone to taking penalties he may not fit in with the makeup of this flames team.

Hopefully not Moore. He is terrible. Maybe Kristo? Or Hayes?

Problem with Kristo is that he is UFA and waiver eligible next season.

Not that I'm interested at all, but Therien threw Eller under the bus earlier this week, after the Habs shootout loss to the Panthers. Postgame Therien said he didn't use Eller or Sekac in the shootout because he wanted to use players that had some offensive ability.
If there was a time when Eller might be had for less than whatever his value is, it could be now. Sekac would be really interesting, but isn't going anywhere despite comments like that. Eller could be.

Hayes would be a steal, flames would need to add to make it happen methinks

Not a rumor, just some member based speculation/wishing on what the Flames could get from the Lightning.

I don't get this attitude. It only takes one team and a late 1st round pick isn't exactly an untraceable commodity. There appears to be considerable interest as we are talking about a guy that can help a playoff team more than a one dimensional guy like Vanek.

This guy fetched a 1st just 3 years ago
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=50640
I would venture to say that CG is a way better and more complete player than he is, and if a playoff team needs a guy like Glenny, they will part with what is required.

It's not as farfetched as you think. This trade deadline doesn't have too many options out there.

Given the past 5 years of trade deadline returns I just don't get why hockey fans state unknown value as known fact for any player.
Glencross is ...
a guy with a productive history
has size
plays with a snarl
wears a letter
but also ...
is having a bad season
is injury prone
in a market that has ...
very few other options.
That's enough twists and turns to make me have no idea as to his worth. The scarcity of #1 picks makes me doubt that they get one for Glencross but if there really are 8 or so teams battling you just never know.
Duhatchek and Friedman have suggested 2nd rounder plus.

It is quite far fetched. Glencross maybe could have got a 1st when he had term left on his deal and you know actually scored goals.
A 32 year old with 8 goals and barely over .5 ppg, who has never cracked 30goals or 50pts, and has stated he is looking to hit a home run in free agency is not getting a first. Especially when he has a list of 5 or so teams he will accept a trade.
