Kessel is consistently one of the best goal scorers in the league and this is all while he is very much out of shape. Guy is just talented and gets it done without the commitment in the gym. If the results are there, what can you say really?
Kessel with Bennet next year on the second line would be wild. Keep Hudler with Monahan.

I like our 1st thank you very much. Kessel can keep his lamma face and stoner glaze in the east.

it would cost way too much and the risk for this guy is way too high. His contract will be terrible in a couple of years for us to deal with because we will have to probably start paying a bit more for some of these budding stars.
Unless we can get him for next to nothing, I would hope they stay far away from this.
Could a strong locker room and captain fix a guy like this? I don't think so.

It's no different than saying we want the Sedins because Burke brought them to Vancouver.

Organizationally, a right-shooting, high-scoring winger is certainly something that's lacking in our pipeline, so Kessel would be a great pickup from that perspective. He's quick enough, but can he get the conditioning and discipline needed to play Hartley's game? I think he's definitely worth a look if we're buying low, but I wouldn't get in a bidding war over him.

Kessel probably does. Talk about not being in line with our team's hard work and game shape.

You know that's photoshopped, right? It was originally a picture of Rob Ford.

It will at least be a young current roster player without questions that the Leafs will want and demand as well as a first.
You would think that the asking price would be around a Monahan or a Gaudreau and a first as a start.
Baert has too many questions right now and is too big of a risk for Nonis to move Kessel for.
The juice isn't worth the squeeze in this case. And with his deal he could become a franchise killing contract in a hurry.

Rob Ford took a photo with The Hamburgler? That seems an unwise photo-op.

The fact that people believed it was a real photo of Kessel is still pretty telling though.

Going for the Burke connection but I still don't see it. This is a different team with a different style, not to mention a different GM.
Wouldn't mind seeing the guy here, but not at the price he'd command

If it's a salary dump, mostly, Flames better be all over it. And I can't see how it isn't at least partially that.

Sure they might ask about them. Then when Brad is done laughing offer them Jooris or Granlund.

Geting this in before Big Tuna derails the thread, but Kessel has a limited no-trade clause, no? That might decrease the value, but I doubt Calgary made the trade list.

Is Burke the kind of guy who makes the same mistake twice?
