No thanks. Stay away from locker room distractions. A poisonous locker room is part of the reason we had to rebuild in the first place.

The thing about Kane is he fits the mold of the type of player the flames want physically. He is big, fast and plays with an edge. He can drop the gloves and hold his own. His character appears to be the opposite of what the organization covets

Definitely. If any organization thinks a change of scenery or even some mentoring is all that is needed for him to blossom, they may never have a shot at a player of his raw skill set and physical ability for a lower price again. High risk high reward though, obviously.
A couple years ago I heard his preference was to play for the Canucks or a non-Midwest city in the States (Chicago is okay). However things like location preference is always changing with any player and at this point it may be "anywhere but Winnipeg".

If anything this just reinforces to me how awesome Buff is. He's a winner. He trolled the Canucks hard in the playoffs and their fans, has won in Chicago, and is a great leader on this team. He plays his balls off.
Kane is a petulant child. He can happily pound sand. I hope the Oilers overpay for this bozo

Kane is a good hockey player, and would be a good addition to any team - on the ice.
it really just comes down to how much he is a distraction off it.

True, but he's not what Richards or Carter were when the trade went down

Would a Yakupov for Kane trade make sense for both sides?

Not for the Jets. They need someone for the "now" as they're trying to make the playoffs. Maybe as part of a larger trade

Kadri+ for Kane maybe? or Schenn straight up? That's if Philly wants him after the kerfuffle Carter and Richards caused.

This is a bad story. I know that it's entertaining, but in the same respect he's sitting somewhere and hopefully sick to his stomach or maybe I am wrong and he is proud of himself. We have to hope that Evander Kane can realize his mistake and do everything possible to rectify it.
It's super disrespectful to the fan base, the team and management. People make mistakes. Hopefully he recognizes this.

A pretty significant portion of that fanbase turned on him years ago ... so I'm sure he doesn't care about the fanbase.

I put my son in hockey for a year here in Richmond, BC. We are Flames fans, of course, being from Calgary originally. My son was sporting some Flames fleece track pants to the rink. For some reason, there was a mix up in the dressing rooms and just before practice had started we had to move to a different room. Everything was grabbed by my son, except his Flames logo pants, which he had forgot to stuff into his bag.
After practice, my son is the only one in the room standing in his underwear with no pants to be seen. So I head over to the other room where we were originally, and low and behold, his Flames pants were thrown into the shower and sopping wet. The whole roster of 12 year olds were snickering. The coaches in that room were even giggling. Douchbaggery at it's finest.
Typical Vancouverites.

Kane deserved everything he got. My son didn't.

Buff pretty much finalized Kane's ticket out of town. Kane is definitely a problem child on the Jets but the Jets need him on the team or at least they need to maximize his trade value.
What did Buff accomplish that benefits the team? Buff wasn't being a leader, he was being a bully. Don't get me wrong as I don't feel sorry for Kane as he is a grown man and well paid hockey player.
The point is that if you've got a problemed employee or teammate, throwing his clothes in the shower isn't an approach thats going to solve an attitude problem and any relationship problems among team members. How are the Jets better off after Buff's action?

Does anyone actually want Evander Kane?
We're actually better off with Curtis Glencross. He's the same size, puts up similar numbers, has a similar style and misses similar numbers of games with injuries. Yes, Kane is 8 years younger but he earns twice as much and has these widely documented attitude problems.
Considering plenty of people around here want rid of Glencross, do any of the same people want to pick up Kane? Silliness if so.
