Wiki says 5'10 is about average male height for Poland. I am assuming that Canada is much more diverse than Poland today. Same would go for Scandinavian countries that have what we would consider "tall" average heights.

Today Canada gets most of its immigrants from countries that have "shorter" average heights. Top four countries for immigrants to Canada:
China
Philippines
India
Pakistan

Canada is getting shorter!

I'm 6'7". Well, actually I just got measured at work a while back and found out I'm just a sliver off of 6'8".

I will say, except for the rare occasion, it has not helped with girls. Some girls straight up said "you're too tall" in my younger, try lots, fail more with girls days.

The odd girl was "OMG your so tall I must dance with you now!" but that was few and far between.

Flying sucks. Car trips aren't always the most comfortable.

I bash my head and knees on public transit whenever I take it.

Buying bikes, shoes or sports equipment is a case of buying what fits and is available (which may be nothing) not getting what you actually want.

Touring old buildings or caves is a hunched over head bashing good time.

I'm too tall for some roller coasters.

But... I've been painting a bunch of crown molding in my house... no ladders. Way faster.

I used to play a lot of volleyball, and it was a huge advantage.

I can reach top shelves everywhere and changing light bulbs is a breeze.

If I could pick, I think I'd go for 6'3".

used to play ball with a guy who was 6'11", he had a permanent stoop from ducking low doorways and light fixtures. Didn't look like a lot of fun, but he could sure destroy the softball. Not many base hits, it was either a mile straight in the air or he'd hit it to another area code.

I am at the taller end of average height for a male (6'1"), and I always felt that would feel more comfortable if I was a little shorter. Some times in public, if I am in front of someone, I start slouching because I feel bad for blocking their view). If I go to a concert or something like that, I usually have a really achy back by the end because of bad posture.

Also, most tall guys can't dance.

I haven't actually measured my height in 20 years. I am on the taller side 6'2"ish not really sure. I also have a lot of friends that are of similar height or even taller. One of my colourists is 6'9", way to tall, looks uncomfortable and he said buying a car was a real bitch. I've had to modify his work spaces and desks at work. On my hockey team all the defensemen are over 6' and 200lbs. Some teams hate playing us.

I never really even pay attention to height, the only time I notice it is in elevators with mirrors and pictures.

I'm about 5'7 and balding at 28, so genetics have not played in my favor. I would say that confidence, personality, hygiene and wardrobe play 99% of the role when it comes to getting laid though.

The guys who say they are subject to "heightism" clearly have confidence issues though. It really is a non-issue and unless you're going for girls that are way taller than you, shouldn't be a big deal. Guys should easily brush it off if any girl doesn't want to date a shorter guy. It's preference, just like any guy who says they don't want to date a chunky girl.

Har Mar Superstar performed Saturday at the Palomino. He is short, balding and overweight. Hot women were buying him drinks and throwing themselves at him.

Everyone has a personal body preference I suppose when it comes to the opposite sex but I imagine height is pretty low on the average male's list of important characteristics in a woman. I think what it boils down to is that a woman that has a small chest or is overweight can always get a boob job or get in shape to become desirable to men that like that. If you are a short guy you will never, ever be able to attract women that like tall men and it's a lot of women.

There's lots of women out there. Just don't waste your time with the ones that care about stuff like that and you'll find yourself hanging around a much more tolerable subset of people anyway.

Lots of guys don't like super short girls either. I know many girls under 5 feet and it's a struggle for them.

I dated a girl that was 4'11" and while she was attractive and her height wasn't a "turn off", I felt big and oafy around her. It was just awkward.

Really though there aren't a lot of women under 5 feet compared to men that are below 5'10" so comparing "super short" women to "short" men is apples to organges. Are you sure "lots" of guys wouldn't want anything to do with an attractive and in shape woman just under 5'? I haven't met a lot of these guys. Be honest while I'm sure you may not have a rigid height preference like some women if two men were identical in every area except height you would probably opt for the taller one. It is what it is.

I've seen that picture before but it still looks bizarre. Even his hands and feet compared to hers makes him look like a giant. She looks hot but I can't see what she would find attractive about a guy that much bigger than her outside of the size of his wallet.

I agree. I would go to bars and clubs with my buddy who is 5 inches taller than me. Not once did girls bring up height and they'd almost always like me over him because I would just act relaxed while my buddy would be obnoxious and loud. He'd get fake numbers and I'd get real ones talking to 2 at a time together.

Height really is insignificant unless you are real short or real tall. If you are really short wear nice vests, nice clothing, shiny shoes and just smile if someone is mean to you but don't really react. Worst thing you can do is show people it bothers you, I've had short dudes steal girls away because their game was on that elite level. It's all about the swagger and how you handle rejection .
