This is why Canadian teams struggle so much - the ongoing pressure and over-analysis is stifling. Every bad pass, every bad decision results in a negative article in the paper, hours of discussion on the radio, etc.

The game is played on ice, wearing sharp blades, using a stick to push around an oddly shaped lump of rubber. Guess what? There are bounces. Bad things happen. In sports, things don't always go your way. Everyone - EVREYONE - has bad games.

But sport - and especially hockey - is about confidence. You have to play relaxed and confident to play well. If every play is scrutinized, if every bad pass means a trip to the press box, what you end up with is everyone gripping their sticks too tight.

Gaudreau is a playmaker. He needs the puck on his stick in order to be effective. Sometimes he'll turn it over. It's gonna happen.

Get over it.

You didn't read my GDT obviously. The separation between the Ducks and Flames is minuscule, and it comes down to experience and having arguably the MVP of the entire league in Getzlaf.

every time the Flames are losing, people whine about how the other team's size is killing us. Yet somehow, the Flames have 6 wins against Anaheim, LA nad SJ this year.

Regardless, the next time the Flames are trailing one of these teams, we'll hear the same "the Flames can't compete with big teams" laments.
