Would Ramo have to pass through waivers if we sent him down?

Nothing outstanding, but steady. Definitely will be a better player for us than Knight would have been. I wouldn't say he was invisible, but like I said, nothing outstanding to report.

Yes. Unless he agreed to a conditioning stint.

Jones and Jooris play a similar game. North-south play with lots of hustle and crashing the net. And when they're on, they're very effective.
Easy to bash Jones for how fragile he's been, but I haven't had a problem with him this season when he's been playing.

If Ortio keeps playing out of his mind until the deadline, isn't moving Ramo a more appealing idea than moving Hiller?

From a contract point of view, yes. But from an age and potential perspective, and seeing how they've played pretty much neck and neck, you might want to consider the alternative.
But if Ortio jumps ahead of both in terms of future plans, you might want to have the vet presence in tandem with Ortio instead of the guy still trying to make his way in the league.

This interview shows how driven Ortio is. He's asked if he's pleased and proud with his play and game. He answers that it was a good game, but he can't be pleased he has to keep going forward.

His articulation in English is great. Only a slight accent, too, reminds me of Dirk Nowitzki where the guy seems to have been drafted so young they're practically North Americans.

If I'm not mistaken, English is widely taught as a second language in Finland. Most Finns born in 1980 or later I believe have been taught English for a number of years in school and many can speak it at a conversational level.
I know personally, I've spoken to a couple of Finnish hockey fans (from other boards) who were born and raised there, never lived in a English speaking country and if I didn't know they were Finnish, I wouldn't have guessed English was a second language by their conversational skills.

Kids start receiving mandatory English in the Nordic countries starting in Grade 5 through high school. Fluency in English is required for university entrance.

I totally read that with his little fidgety neck motions.

I'm not sure who used to post it, or how they did it. But I really miss the player stats being posted

Orts is awesome. You can tell he's more athletic than Hiller and Ramo just by watching some of those desperation saves he made last night. He doesn't rely on his butterfly that much compared to Hiller... He has a little Tim Thomas in his goaltending style.
