Much has been discussed about Bryant's catch/no catch and, as a Cowboys' fan since the early 70s, I am not too crazy about the outcome. However, the refs got the call right as far as the dopey rule goes.
Now, as is normal with the Cowboys, they had several instances where they could have cemented this thing away but blew it. They mismanaged the game at the end of the first half. On 3rd and one, Romo audibled and it didn't work out. What was the original play? Then, the normally safe Bailey missed the field goal. Rogers makes a couple of plays and GB gets a field goal themselves. So, at the minimum, a six point swing right there.
Opening the second half, the Cowboys stopped GB and were moving to score when Murray fumbles. If he got by Peppers, he had one guy to beat. So Rogers gets the ball back in great field position and away they go.
Dallas's D was horrible on third downs and allowed a 46-yard TD on 3rd and 15.
Dallas got the benefit of an iffy PI call in the endzone in the first half.
On Dallas's last drive, Romo took a sack on 2nd down. He had time to heave that where no one could catch it. Instead, 3rd down play comes out a couple of yards short leading to the Bryant play. But why would the Cowboys go for a high risk pass in that situation. It looked like Beasley was open. But it also looked like GB defenders may have obstructed Romo's view to Beasley. However, and in hindsight, it seems that going for the kill at that point was not a good decision as it would have given too much time back to Rodgers and, by this stage of the game, he was torching Dallas D. On the other hand, if the chance to score presents itself, you have to take it; you just never know.
Dallas started well but too many mistakes added up. Kind of like what happened to Detroit last week.

So if Manning calls it a day as well....its pretty much time to blow it up in Denver...no?
No coach, no QB, likely no OC......might as well start over.

Likely no DC, Del Rio can catch the first flight to Oakland. Yup, it's a season of the Brock show, finish 3-13 and get the QB of the future though the draft (like Elway wanted in the first place).
Firing Fox now hopefully means they're looking at Bowles for HC or maybe the Kubiak "I'm staying in Baltimore" was stalling for this opening.

No guarantee Manning is gone, why would he be tied to Fox?

Now local media is reporting that ALL the coaching staff has been fired. That's how you clean house if true
Seriously, that's crazy if that's the case.
Edit: now they're backing off that. Just your standard "jobs on the line" with the HC fired

Just have Manning as HC/OC/QB...or maybe find a guy that can be HC and only do defense, leave Manning alone to do the offense. lol

Fox to Atlanta makes a lot of sense, Chicago maybe or even San Francisco too. But you figure he becomes the #1 coach available, he did pretty well in both his stops (Tebow playoff win after all) and has made a Super Bowl twice so he's still a good if not great coach. As for the Broncos it obviously becomes the #1 job available. I like Bowles a lot but I almost think they are better off with an offensive guy instead to try and maximize what's left of Peyton, if he's coming back. If not it's a less appealing job obviously. Rex probably regrets signing too early in Buffalo.

Wasn't that what Fox was?
A leg injury explains a lot. If Manning is healthy, than Denver is still a really strong team.
I think he's back next year. Too much other talent to not be going for it.

That was the case already, Gase and Manning ran the offence. Scuttlebutt is that Fox wanted more running(like how they won in the 2nd half of the season) and the game plan yesterday was basically Manning and Gase undermining Fox.
I fully expect both Gase and Del Rio to be gone (SF and Oakland respectively) and Manning to follow. He's very close to Gase and likes continuity. Not saying he goes to SF but he'll be somewhere else.
Sorry, this discussion should probably go in the season not the playoff thread.

So John Fox wins the division 4 years in a row, wins a playoff game with Tebow, goes to the Super Bowl, and gets fired after 12-4....but Marvin Lewis is still employed. Kind of odd.

Don't know about the love for John Fox.
Gets out-coached all the time, especially in big games:
Both Superbowls, Playoff loss to Baltimore where he let it go to OT with a minute left, Yesterday with 40-some throws when QB is banged up and ineffective...Good riddance.

I'm debating whether I want to stick with my preseason prediction of a Green Bay-Indy Super Bowl. Looks highly unlikely but I almost have to stick with it at this point.

God I hope you're right. Seattle needs to be knocked out.
This nonsense has to end:

What nonsense or "getting out of hand" is that? They've been selling those #12 jerseys since at least the move to Qwest/Century Link 13 years ago, probably longer.
While there is no doubt that more fans have jumped on the Seattle bandwagon over the past 3 or 4 years (as all teams with success see happen), what's as bad are those who are so upset at the bandwagoners/insecure with their own team, that they don't know enough about the team/fans they're ripping.

Has nothing to do with bandwagon fans. Every team has them and I couldn't care less about them on my favorite or opposing teams.
The 12th man thing is the cheesiest thing I've ever seen. They retired, yes RETRIED #12 in honor of the fans. What is this peewee football? Should all teams/players get a participation ribbon too?
I could maybe understand a CFL team doing something like this to appease fans since it is a much smaller league (although it would still be ridiculous) but a team in the NFL to stoop this low? Come on...
It takes Vancouver's 7th man to a whole new level of absurdity where they actually retired the number and make money off selling those jerseys.
It must be something in that Northern West Coast water that causes those teams to have puke green and blue jerseys, employ scummy players and entertain cheesy gimmicks.
Vancouver = Seattle
