Stajan will likely play 1000 games in the NHL... Knight will be lucky to play 100.

I'm thinking the McGrattan move and this one are somewhat related. Flames were kind of limited on who they can send down to Addy based on clearing waivers. This gives them the option of sitting a player in the press box instead of exposing an asset to the waiver wire.

Wow... I am really stoked...

when I first put in the trade rumor thread that Drew Shore was available I was really hoping that the Flames would get him.

He is more of a playmaker than a goal scorer, but he is a really good prospect

I can see Shore called up after Big Earn clears waivers. Once brought up I can see Byron see some time in the press box. Going down the stretch we are going to need to be bigger and even though Byron can play above his size he hasn't done it for a while.

Treliving saying that Shore is "ok" on faceoffs makes me think he is going to be a RW as well.

Hopefully Jooris isn't out too long, but I expect Granlund to be sent down after tonight and for Shore to be called up tomorrow or Sunday.

As for Knight, many will recall shortly after Burke was hired that Feaster said that in his discussions with Burke, he identified a player that he thought would be a key propsect for the organization and that Burke disagreed.

Was told by someone close to the organization the player was Knight.

Big win for the Flames on Paper. as with all trades only time will tell.

Wonder if Shore has any experience on RW. Playing C & RW could be a big + for this organization.

Not doubting you, but i remember reading a quote from Burke in the summer saying knight will be a nhl player. Burke does not say that about many prospects.

I have never understood the hype around knight.

I guess he had more value than I thought.

I like trade itself because I was never big on Corban Knight. I'm a little unsure where he fits in organizationally unless they intend to leave him in the AHL ... which I doubt.

I hope this isn't a bad omen for Backlund's tenure here.
