the bingo brass is out in full force. Love how you all harped on that one guy in this one thread because it was started by bingo.

No disrespect to bingo.

I think he has high-end offensive skill. If he ever figures out the mental aspect of the game, he will be a top 6 forward. That's a big if IMO. I'd still like to see him traded for a RW or D but I'd also hate to sell low on Sven.

The complaint was useless, it has nothing to do with Bingo.

That said:

Baertschi is a total enigma for me, I don't know how much I believe in the personality issues and the pouting, but he seems to have the skills and maybe needs a bit more drive. I think given time, he will end up in the show, it's just up to him to work for it, right now he seems to be.

I think it means he's increasing his trade value! I hope he gets called up soon to either prove he has game or that we need to move on from him. It would be great if he gets called up and doesn't look out of place, I just don't know if this is a hot streak or if his game has actually improved that much.

I think you're over stating the need to protect me.

I think a strong majority hate the bitchy response thing in topics.

I think it is pretty crappy to call the kid a head case. I don't see it that way at all. I think he is just a young player who wasn't able to play in the NHL full time at 18/19 years old. There are TONS of those players out there.

He has had confidence issues but I think that is a temporary problem that will be addressed with time and experience. It looks like he is addressing it now. I love how much he is shooting right now in Addy.

I think it is a big mistake to trade him because I believe he will turn into a high quality top 6 winger and make you look silly in the future for doing so.

I do agree that until there is a roster spot on a scoring line or a young line, then he is better served playing really well in Adirondack... but if such a spot in the lineup does open up I think he should be called up.

Thanks for the QOTD Bingo, I always enjoy these.

No one said head case that I can recall. At best people have reference what you did.

That term is used in the poll... And people have voted for that answer...

I hope he is turning a corner. I am not sure I see room for him on the team long term but I am also hoping he will be a valuable asset in the rebuild be it by trade. I hope he gets the call up soon and can keep it going in the nhl

I'm pulling for the guy. I still think he got the short end of the stick from Burke, but that's an entirely different argument for another thread.

I kind of get the feeling his next call up may be his last chance to make a big impression and stay up. There's far too much depth on this team that is going to pass him if he doesn't.

Dion is the only 1st rounder going back to 1984 (Gary Roberts) that has actually gone on to have a lucrative career, and the Flames gave him away for nothing.

It's frustrating as a fan to see it happening again to a player many thought was a sure thing after ripping up the WHL and scoring 3 in 5 during the emergency callup.

So yes, it's something that should, and is, receiving a fair bit of attention. Those picks need to count because a franchise that continually mishandles and blows their most important picks is not going to find success, even if the late-round drafting yields the odd gem.
The Flames had one of the worst drafts of any team in 2003 BECAUSE of the The Dion.

So that doesn't count. 2003 was a draft that you could fall backwards into a great player, and the Flames still picked poorly relative to the draft.

Great to hear that he is having some success. I personally hope the Flames leave him there for the rest of the season. Just let him be and have some success. I know lots of people will be calling for him to come up to the big club if this continues, but the guy has been yanked all over the place in his career. Just let him play. If he can have a great second half in Adirondack, then let him come into camp next year and claim his spot.

I do agree however it is humorous how 5 games in the NHL this year was a big enough sample size for many to write him off and want him used as trade bait.

Yeah, I just noticed that (even though I voted - obviously not for that choice). My bad.

He played 14 games, or are you talking about posts after the first 5?

Sven is fine and would play on a number of NHL rosters right now. However, he won't play on the Flames under Hartley.

Trade him already and turn the page so both sides can move on.

The most encouraging thing we've heard is Huska talking about his total attitude change, including a regaining of his swagger. Hopefully that confidence carries forward and propels his development to becoming a quality NHLer.

I would have Sven in Calgary for the rest of the season and playing ahead of:

Raymond
Byron

He could definitely take Byron's spot. Though then CP will explode that he's not playing top 6.

I would like to read/hear that, do you know where I could find it?

Thanks
