Well, the return is about what we got for Iginla from the pens. Management wise, it is a decent trade on both sides, it will be intersting to see if anyone else tries to win their way off the Oilers.

not sure if this has been posted yet, but Perron found out that he was traded ... via twitter. Yeah, no kidding.

Bush league from both his agent, and, with zero surprise, from the Oilers.

That said, network resources at the Oilers offices was taken up by Mudcrutch still spinning his statistical yarn from the last two games where the team actually got points, into a tapestry of positivity for Lowe....thus the reason for lack of reliable Skype connections, or a Facebook/Instagram/Google+/ICQ alert to Perron from someone in the Oilers executive.

I'd say it would have been more like Martha Stewart trying to TM it during her ill-fated spin-off.

wow....

first skype, now twitter, wonder if guys on the oilers roster, coaching staff or management will stop logging into facebook/instagram, or perhaps they'll be logging in even more often now hoping for similar news.

Todd Nelson was probably hired via Tumblr.

I cant even imagine whats next, Facebook?

"Your relationship with the Edmonton Oilers has been changed to: Complicated"

Just when you think the Oilers couldnt possibly screw up even more they somehow find a way.

They're keeping their management and scouting the same so they're just going to ruin or waste whatever picks they get anyway.

As others mentioned, they should target players playing now that can step in and help while they ship out players that aren't helping.

Vets that can help....isn't that what Perron was or should have been?

Seriously though, it isn't hard to see Twitter getting ahold of the trade before the team is ready to announce it. That is how things like Aaron Ward's infamous trade of Iggy to Boston happened.

But if someone connected to the team (or even the official team account itself) posted before they called Perron...

Could you imagine if Perron was suiting up for the Colorado game, and then Nelson asks, "You're still here?"

Disgraceful tank. There is absolutely nothing else to say.

The only thing I am hoping for at this point is some interesting tidbits from Perron bashing the Oilers. Perron must be one happy camper now though!

Especially when Barbrashev, the player taken with the 33rd overall pick would've been picked around 12-15th if he wasn't Russian.

I feel bad for Klinkhammer. Plays 10 games in Pittsburgh and then has to be sent to the worst team in the league.

Mac T was too busy hand stitching a McDavid nameplate onto a jersey to be bothered with calling Perron before Twitter got the news.

This kinda reminds me of the Phaneuf trade to Toronto.

Mark my words, Perron will come to life in Pittsburgh and will be nearly a point per game player for the rest of the season.

The clowns in Edmonton once again prove themselves incapable of managing their way out of a paper bag let alone managing a hockey team.
