Except, I did. Read the rest of the post. I know you tend to miss things (see last page ) but I replied to you. Though by all means, use that as your way to back out again. You lost at the Chucko comment anyways.

Please mention draft position again, embarrassed yourself more.

You're fooling yourself as usual. I explained how the two situations are similar (lack of offence production) and the same suggested solution (turn pro) in how to rectify the situations.

Uh, now I can't mention his draft position. Your sense of what is allowed and not allowed is amusing.

You can do whatever you want, I didn't say you can't just that you look stupid in the process. His draft position doesn't matter anymore, you should try to understand that.

So now you want to erase history.

Anyways what we are talking about is expectations. What his draft position is may not be germane to you just as after a couple of years Gaudreau's expectations were not relevant to his draft position but lets just say that your expectations seem to be dropping.

In a thread full of terrible Jankowski arguments, this one takes the cake.

My Favourite Jankowski comparisons are Kreider and Hayes.

Both first rounders that came right out of a US High School league, that were "projects" when drafted, just like Janko.

Kreider:
Year 1: 0.60 ppg (9th on team)
Year 2: 0.75 ppg (8th on team)
Year 3: 1.02 ppg (1st on team)

Hayes:
Year 1: 0.44 ppg 15th on team
Year 2: 0.64 ppg 9th on team
Year 3: 0.96 ppg 5th on team

Jankowski
Year 1: 0.52 ppg, 5th on team
Year 2: 0.64 ppg 3rd on team
Year 3: 0.66 ppg 3rd on team

So up until this year Jankowski was following their trend. He needs to put up more points but I think he can in the second half since he has been struggling with health and injury to start this year.

I still think that the dominating force that was Johnny Gaudreau has skewed our thoughts on the impact Jankowski should have, it is rare that 18/19 year old players dominate the NCAA, and when they do they are usually very special players.

You also forget that Krieder and Hayes played for one of the top scoring teams in college hockey and Jankowski plays for one of the lowest. Hayes and Krieder were promoted to lines that scored a lot. Jankowski doesn't get that benefit. For comparison, how would either of those players do on a line with Bollig and Bouma? That is the quality of player the Friars have to work with. Johnny Hockey couldn't score between those two.

Kind of a hyperbole to say considering Gaureau's center for his freshman and sophomore season in BC is toiling away in the ECHL.

Fail to see how.

Inability to make the next step doesn't take away from someones successful junior or College career.

It certainly does if we're extrapolating that to his future nhl career

C Pat Mullane Boston College
before he played with Gaudreau
1st year: .67pts/g
2nd year: .74pts/g

RW Steven Whitney Boston College
before he played with Gaudrea
1st year: .67pts/g
2nd year: .44pts/g

F Trevor Mingoia Providence College
1st year: .58pts/g
2nd year: 1.00pts/g

F Nick Saracino Providence College
1st year: .64pts/g
2nd year: .72pts/g
3rd year: .67pts/g

If Mingoia and Saracino are Bollig and Bouma level players for Providence what does that make Pat Mullane and Steve Whitney on the higher scoring BC Eagles?

While I agree Providence doesn't have the highest talent - to suggest Jankowski is playing with the NCAA equivalent of Bollig and Bouma is hyperbole and that even Gaudreau wouldn't produce with them, when he already has with comparable talent, is also hyperbole.

Ah yeah, gotcha. Thought you were saying because they are "toiling" in the ECHL now, meant they weren't successful players in College. Being 22 as a Senior gives a lot of guys advantages in College, one of the reasons guys like Mullane and Almedia had bigger senior years then any previous season.

Unfortunately hyperbole does tend to take away rather then help good points however.

I'm missing your point. Are you saying that Kreider and Hayes didn't benefit from playing on a strong offensive squad, or that Jankowski should be scoring regardless of who he plays with?

I'll go out on a limb here and say that Mingoia and Saracino are both playing beer league hockey when their college careers wind down. I don't see players with even Mullane's upside.

Projecting Jankowski as anything more than a 3rd liner at this point is extremely optimistic. Even a 3rd liner is optimistic. I hope he makes it, but you can only say he's some late bloomer for so long.

He's 20 how is this considered a late bloomer? He has grown 8" and 50# in the last 3 years so it may just take him some time to become the player he will be.

Exactly. He's about 8 weeks short of being eligible for the World Juniors still. He wont be into "late bloomer" territory for a couple of years yet.
