This is the part I don't get. We don't know that he isn't willing. He's been dumped in that craphole and handed the keys to the kingdom. Almost any kid will become 'spoiled' when they are handed everything and there is zero accountability.
He still plays like he cares - and he's the only one.
Whether he could learn to be different, I don't know - but to say he is unwilling is premature and speculative, in my opinion.

I think this trade has to happen for Edmonton and it should happen in the offseason. Hopefully MacT pulls a Sutter and trades him during the season as the return and teams involved will be drastically less

Yup. People get all twisted up about the trade deadline, but without question in most cases the value of a player can be leveraged much higher after the season. Every team has months to massage their cap situation/contract limit after the SC finals whereas during the season, some who may be interested simply don't have that flexibility.
No doubt McTavish will be looking to make deals after the Xmas trade freeze, but his heavy lifting probably wont occur til late June/early July.

I think Hall might find new life like Tyler Seguin found when he was shipped off to Dallas.
I don't want to write him off for what has happened being put into that hell hole which is Edmonton.

Is all speculative, but the gliding to the bench when the puck is going the other way, the lazy swatting at the puck in his own end and the general hissy fits he throws don't scream to me that he cares at all

I'll agree that there are usually a lot of points scored when Hall is on the ice, just more of them are against the team he's on. He may score a lot of goals and he has got a lot of points but the guy is a pile of dog crap on the other side of the puck. I don't care if he scores 8 goals in a game because the odds are he will be the direct result of 9 going against his team.
Just a tidbit...

He plays like he cares going towards the other team's net. Coming back, not so much.

80pts in 75 games last year as a 22 year old. Teams will be lining up to land this guy if he's available. If actual GMS don't care about all these little things you guys are nitpicking about it obviously means people on here are making it a way bigger deal than it is. You hate the Oilers we get it. Let's still look at things as unbiased as possible.

Actual GMs said if Hall's draft was done over again, he'd be a distant 4th place.
Teams will be lining up if the price is fair. This does not mean a star centre, goalie or defenceman.
Points aren't everything in this game. Hall was a minus 15 last year. +/- isn't a great stat but -15 is a big number for the top scorer on the team. And I bet it'd be higher if you counted the times he managed to change before the puck went in.
This year how are his stats? He's 101st in the league, just ahead of that pesky Scott Hartnell. He's a third line left winger in Calgary based on those points.

Hall just needs to get out of Oiler country ASAP. He just needs a change of scenery and wherever he goes his game will improve.
Hopefully a deal is made out in the East.

You're saying GMs don't care about character issues, low hockey IQ and a lack of willingness to play team defense?
He isn't worthless, but there are definitely some red flags if you're looking to trade for him. You don't just look at his goals and assists from last year and make a massive offer, there's more to a hockey player than that.

It's neat how Hackey made up a fact (teams lining up for Hall) and then used that fact to draw a strange conclusion (GMs don't care about the "little things").

That Bob McKenzie thing where the GMs re-ranked that draft, I suspect that's just GMs thinking to themselves "Ok, which one of these guys is most likely to be available." And using Bob's story for future leverage in trade negotiations.

Maybe. On the other hand, is there any doubt where Seguin is this year compared to Hall? Or that Ryan Johannsen is a really good two way player, and a centre? The third one was Tarasenko, and while you could argue that's just flavour of the month, he is a PPG guy and a plus 17.

A great many teams would love to have someone who can score like Hall does, certainly. But that does not mean those same teams don't care about his complete lack of defensive ability or his junior hockey IQ. It suggests that they think they could fix or improve those deficiencies, or that even with those issues, he's still a net positive.
And, of course, Hall would not walk into any other locker room as the leader, meaning he wont be able to drive a different team off the cliff. In fact, in most other organizations, someone would snap his head around in a clear 360 if he didn't buy in.
