The only time to fear is if/when Nicholson eventually gives a press conference. Because that will likely mean the release of both Lowe and MacT. Which would be terrible for Flames fans.

For now, nothing is getting fixed while those monkeys are running things.

Edmonton gets 2 top 5 picks in positions of major need and the Islanders get a sniper to play with Tavares for the next several years. If also doesn't hurt that NY would only be paying $1M more for Tavares+Hall than the Hawks would pay for just one of Toews and Kane per season.
yep I can see something like that, if they were smart they would move Eberle for a d man too

then they build around RNH/Nurse/Strome/Reinhart/Draisatl and likely McDavid

Alex Tanguay to Calgary for Jordan Leopold and a pair of 2nd round picks.

That was the return for a similarly talented left winger who had issues off the ice. He was 2 years older than what Hall is now when he was dealt. Tanguay had 400 points when he was dealt, and 243 after his 4th NHL season, Hall had 225 at the same point.

It's not a perfectly ideal comparison, but it should show a rough approximate on what type of return he should garner.

Hey, if you have a core that looks like that, and you've rooted Lowe and MacTavish out of the organization? That there just might be a recipe for hope.

So I went to the oilers game against San Jose when they actually won. I saw hall slam the door twice coming off the ice, once he motioned to break his stick over his knee, and he almost always has his head down. I can't believe people wanted him captain.

Hall is going to go for much more then that. (If traded) 29 NHL teams will be inquiring.

He's the golden boy in that organization but at the same time there's always been a little smoke about the dressing room culture. If he's not willing to adapt will MacT have the stones to reduce his ice time? Would be interesting to see what the market would be on Hall. It can't be denied that he's a point a game player that produces offensively. That said if he's not coachable is it just a matter of him needing a change of scenery or is he just going to be one of those guys that never gets it?

Also, not to forget, Hall is getting paid a LOT of money.

Not a whole lot of contending teams can afford that.

That's a pretty backdated 2nd... they gave up two to get Boychuk. But Yes, that seems like a defensable move for both.

Tanguay also was surrounded by winners and made key contribution to the cup winning team.

Hall hasn't won a thing and has been surrounded with bums.

There is no way the oilers get potential top line player and top 4 defence man for a left winger.

6.0 million for a legit first line LW is a great deal.

The Oilers could always take a player back or retain a bit of salary.

Off ice issues? Never heard that one before, but Hall is a much more valuable player then Tanguay ever was.

Its not terrible, but its not cheap either. And the Oilers really cant retain much salary because that dumpster fire of a team is up against the cap themselves.

ya but most contenders that have been good for awhile wouldnt have the assets either

I think its going to be someone like the Islanders, fringe contender with prospects/picks to move and cap space

maybe Columbus? Montreal has some guys they could move? Tampa?

This isn't news. This is just the first time anyone had the balls to suggest it publicly. The Oilers dressing room is a mess because of the cliques that exist. Hall leads the way and has ruined the young players on that team by his influence off the ice. You play how you practice and you practice how you play. There is a group more concerned about drinking and pulling wool than they are about winning hockey games. It is obvious who is in which clique.
