Worth noting that 99% of the talk since that presser has been about how terrible MacTavish is rather than how terrible Eakins and the players are. So if nothing else, he's given the players and coach a little breathing room - at least until they lose tomorrow.

Kind of OT, but I love how Craig Button established himself in broadcasting. He has a lot of passion and interesting views.

To be fair, half of what people are saying about MacTavish is that he is a terrible GM because he hired a terrible coach and terrible players. I wouldn’t breathe too easily if I were one of them.

Well it is as Killer Carlson had also said, it takes the mics out of the face of the players, in addition to the team being on a few day break.

More importantly for Lowe, its done its job in deflecting any greater spotlight from shining on those above the GM...so mission accomplished for Lowe when he setup his quick forensic audit as some sort of faux sudden organizational concern, then threw MacTavish out to the wolves to regurgitate the cliches and concepts that Lowe and MacTavish talk about daily to comfort themselves. It's now MacTavish looking silly saying them out to the public.
