Ashran isn't the fastest honor.. well it might be but I don't know it well. I just do arena skirms. You can knock out a lot in a small amount of time, and if you're good you get a chest for winning each time with a chance of having 50-75 honor in it. You also get honor for winning, 50 per match I believe.
If it's a healer team I just leave, start a new match. Not worth the 10-15 minutes it will take to kill that team. In that amount of time I could have won 5 or 6 more!
I wouldn't be surprised if they nerf it tomorrow though. But I filled my packs with the chests and capped out my honor.. so here is hoping they don't wipe/delete it

Ashran does get you a crap tonne of honour quickly if you're on the side that wins on your server. If not, it's a moderately decent way to do it.

I was in a 4 hour MC run. We were wiping at Corehound packs. I was getting close to flipping a table, then realized there was no point. It's not like there is any other way to get the mount. So instead of raging about it, me and 3 other guys basically took control and made the raid happen, so we all got our hats and mounts.
Kinda felt more accomplished that way. It's not like there's some other way to get the mount, and not all of us can get rockstar groups.

Are the fights the same? It's been 9 years since I raided that place and it was any sort of challenge ... I don't know if I even remember the actual mechanics anymore

The fights all seemed the same. I don't remember AOE'ing the Core Hound packs in vanilla. I seem to remember setting up markers and killing one at each marker far enough apart that they wouldn't reignite.

When we did it, there was about 7 or 8 of us from my guild who had downed it at release. We essentially queued in and made sure we had all the important roles (to the point, one who was queued as DPS actually took over a tanking role from a taunt happy druid). Kicked AFKs and steamrolled it in about an hour forty five/two hours fifteen.
I hate MC. I hate it with a fiery passion and am beyond happy to be forever done with it. Any extra time spent there and I'd have likely melted down.

More or less the same. Forgetting mechanics was pretty common for us. Way easier. Trash is cleared quickly and can be easily chain pulled with adequate tanks and healers. Not the 20 hour pain in the ass it was.

I was still doing runs on 5 characters for ingots in Pandas since I finally got the Eye on my Warrior for a trophy piece.
I also did Garr/Baron runs to try and get bindings.
I've killed Garr/Baron at least 200 times and have never seen either binding.
I also really hate MC.

I always really liked MC. I remember the first time we got Majordomo down after weeks of trying. Went downstairs just to see Rag, pulled and one shotted him.
Wiped on Razorgore for a month straight until the guild imploded just before TBC came out.

They seemed much the same, but it kinda felt like the bosses did their thing much more slowly. I think Geddon only blew up 2-3 people. Garr only tossed the raid around once, Rag only submerged once (around 15%, I think). The boss fights felt a lot easier, or we were killing them a lot faster, one of the two.
The trash was the main issue. Folks just have NO patience, don't understand DPS standing back and waiting for a tank to bring a group back, focus fire, etc.

I think overall the playerbase is just better than when MC was current. There are a lot of facerollers obviously, but even the dumbed down LFR raids are way more complex than the MC bosses. That was pretty much a tank and spank raid.

The seals give you a bonus roll for loot on bosses in Highmaul

How does this work with loot karma systems for guild raids?

Personal rolls, so completely separate. Guild doesn't see it.

How short/long are the normal versions of the new dungeons?
My wife and I only play when the kidlet is asleep, don't want to queue for a PUG and find ourselves in a dungeon that's really long.

Usually dungeons take 20-1h, but the dps queue is like 30 minutes i believe.

Wait, what?
Raids don't have a shared loot table?

The Raid does but you will have the option for a personal roll if you have one available

Agreed, when were running 40 mans, I was one of the officers and mage class leader, taking 8 mages and managing their loot whore desires, all the infighting, all the drama over damage etc...
I can't get over how much stress it was, fun sure, but I would estimate in any 40 man raid, about 15 people were top notch, 10-15 were just decent enough to help, 10 people would have been probably better not being there as they caused more trouble than anything, useless players who couldn't move out of fire, just stood there with a bomb on them, etc..

What a fail of a patch day, I finally gave up after 9 PM. Did they ever get them going last night?
Also, they put the Conquest vendor in Ashran as a major unit involved in the fighting... how annoying is that? Went to try and check out the gear this morning, had to wait to get in and then he was fighting Horde on the road.
Where is the PvE gear vendor located?
