I'm practicing saying it to myself to see if I can say it without snickering. I'm not entirely sure I can.

What's worse, "Absidy" spelled as such wouldn't be horrendous. Still terrible, but not as disastrous as Abcd.

I see the Jackson epidemic continues. I know 4 Jacksons of various spellings under the age of 3. We need containment before it takes over completely.

I still don't know how to pronounce that.
Is it like "ab-city" or "abs-idee" or "ab-psi-dee"?

More like ab-si-dee, with the emphasis on the dee.

Close, but the last syllable is wrong. It's "Dee", like the first syllable of delicious or delight.

Wow - that wasn't even one of my guesses. I see a lot of "actually its pronouced ab-sid-dee" in their future.

Wow, Aiden is still going strong? And Jackson, too? I don't get it.
Heard some parents yelling at their kid at one of those play places last year. Kid's name was "Midnight Rain". I laughed out loud - it was so ridiculous.

Regarding ABCD, that pronunciation is brutal. It's like they deliberately made it as difficult as possible. What's wrong with the pronunciation Aah - Bee - See - Dee? Well then girl can adopt the short name Abby, which would be letting her off easy. We must make the pronounciation far more complicated and impossible to shorten.

The top ten names for boys were:

Aiden
Liam
Lucas
Noah
Mason
Ethan
Caden
Jacob
Logan

All of those names sound like names given to weak kids that get beat up at school. Except for Noah, that guy built his own boat with his own two hands and defeated mother nature.

Ugh. The idea that parents think that their kid is this mystical, magical special snowflake by naming them a bizarre name is, frankly, creepy. 'Midnight Rain' is direct evidence of this phenomenon.
On a related note, what's a kid thread without a rant from good ol' George Carlin about kids:
