I'm thinking we could try this March 21st or 29th?
Will have to be later in April I think - most are busy this weekend.

Not sure if people here ever played the Space Hulk board game. The new version is up on the Games Workshop website. Probably won't last long and will probably resell well on ebay if you care for that sort of thing.

Thread seems pretty quiet/dead - how is this Fallcon thing? I guess it is this weekend?

Now that summer is over it should be easier to plan a game night.

Hey guys, I'm looking for the name of a game. I think it's older, as we had it when I was a kid and haven't seen it in some time, and came across it again at a board game at the pub thing I was at about a year ago.

It's NOT Taboo or Balderdash.

You were one of two teams. You were given a card with a word on it. You had to get your team to guess that word by saying anything but that word as well as a few select words from a list words that were also on that card before a sand timer ran out. There was no board.

FWIW, the box was predominately grey, with some red lines on it.

Google is not helping. Anyone know it?

Catch Phrase? Maybe that was the one where you passed a little machine though.

Calgary designer Orin Bishop's Steampunk Rally is up on Kickstarter. Having played a couple prototype versions of this game, I can say that it is a great idea and a lot of fun, and they've done a great job with the visuals for the game.

A lot of buzz about this game:

http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ed...sem=2&esum=266

Imperial Assault casts you and your friends into the climactic events following the Death Star’s destruction above Yavin 4, and offers two full game experiences within the Star Wars saga. In the campaign game, you and up to four other friends play a series of thrilling missions woven together in a narrative campaign, and in the skirmish game, you and your opponent muster your own strike teams and battle head-to-head over conflicting objectives. Whether you play as a hero of the Rebellion and fight alongside iconic characters like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, or command the seemingly limitless armies of the Galactic Empire, you’ll enter the Star Wars universe in Imperial Assault.
As an added bonus, Imperial Assault includes the Darth Vader Villain Pack and the Luke Skywalker Ally Pack. These figure packs mark the first expansions for Imperial Assault, adding sculpted plastic figures with new campaign and skirmish missions.

Imperial Assault is exactly the kind of game I'll throw money at.

I'm going to pimp this one more time, as the Kickstarter is over in a couple days. Thanks to hitting nearly all of its stretch goals, it supports up to 8 players, has two map sets, sixteen different historical figures you can play as, metal cogs for playing tokens, and 108 six-sided dice. If it hits its last stretch goal (which looks almost certain), those dice will be high quality translucent dice.

Few buddies and I are looking to get into some entry level board gaming. We like the comic book stuff, star wars, fantasy etc... dnd seems like it might be a bit to intense for us. This would be a casual one Saturday night a month type session.

Any recommendations for that?

Highly recommend the DC deck building game. It's fast paced and incredibly easy to learn especially for a comic book nerd like yourself.
