I loved the full team celebration on the tying goal where they all zagged in the opposite direction, while all looking super intense about it, but not even losing their #### that they just made a buzzer beater (even the guys on the bench). Just the look of total warriors on the ice.
Was reading an article the other day on pulling the goalie. (Sorry, lost the link.) Stats guy was saying that it's a good strategy, but most coaches wait until it's too late to be effective.
This is the second time that Hartley has pulled the goalie relatively early. It's paying off. Props to him for having the stones to take the risk.

I have just had my proudest moment as a Flames fan. In the Flames.com post-game video section, one of the segments is captioned "Scoreface" with Glencross wearing the hardhat. I gave him that nickname right here on CP.
I love seeing the crowd lose their minds in that pic.
Sorry to the folks sitting in front of me when that goal was scored. I may have showered you with my beer-- you didn't seem to mind, but sorry anyways.

After a bottle of tequila polished with two beers this win felt just effn awesome! Even those not cheering for Flames cheered when the goal was scored 5 second before the siren. What a wonderful feeling! Lights out now.

“Nevermind the grey hair,” said the visibly rattled and relived head coach of the Flames. “I have to get my heart checked. Again, I don’t know how they do it but they found a way again.
“We’re not making it easy but we’re making it interesting.”
“As soon as we won, you look at the number of fans that were still in the building,” he said. “At 4-2, it would have been easy for them to say, ‘The game is done,’ and they’d be in the parking lot. But they stayed with us.
“That’s the kind of relationship we have with our fans and our players did it again.”

“Once (Hudler) scored that third goal, six-on-five, it was electric on the bench,” Hartley said. “The guys believed they could make the difference. But as much as we played well, Karri Ramo gave us some unbelievable saves. We had to open up and go and Karri kept us in there.
“Even though he gave up four goals, he gave us quite a game."

“Jagr, (Saturday)night, I’m so happy that we won,” Hartley said. “But our fans saw a world-class player … this guy is a machine. I don’t know how he does it.
“It’s quite impressive and we’re lucky to have guys like him in the league.”

“You know what, we stuck with it,” Glencross said afterwards. “They got that goal halfway through the third period and we didn’t get down on the bench.
“We’ve been a good third-period team all year and have come back and won a lot of one-goal games … and that was a fun third period to play in.”
Weird that Jagr was out there. Hadn't noticed that. Thanks.
Weird shift for him. He outraces TJ Brodie of all people to erase the icing call. Just fantastic effort and should have guaranteed the win.
And then... he throws the puck blindly into the slot from behind the Flames net for some reason instead of just holding it against the boards while the clock winds down.
Flames take it and skate up the ice and tie the game while he takes nobody in the slot.

I didn't get to watch the game and then caught a late movie.
Parts of Edmonton give me a glimpse of 960 radio broadcasts and i heard through crackling static that we made it 4-3. I got home, logged on here to see how it ended and wow.
I have to say how much I enjoy CP and how much I enjoy that there are nutcases out there who are as nutty about the Flames as I am. Reading the last 5 pages of that game thread literally had me smiling ear to ear. The passion and emotion is oozing out. That was a lot of fun.
I have the game PVR'd, but I just wanted to say thanks to those who posted in the game thread, as it made for a really enjoyable read. Kudos to all of you.
