Unreal effort. Simply unreal. Ramo was superb tonight, kept us in it with some quality saves. Looked back to his best tonight, maybe he is reinvigorated by the news that Hartley is going back to alternating.

Gio and Brodie were terrible up until the last 5 minutes of regulation when they finally got their acts together. I have no doubt this was a one off from both, but Brodie in particular needs to up his game.

I really liked the energy a number of player showed tonight, especially Granlund, Jooris and Ferland. But what was nice was that when they couldn't produce, our vets took control and got the goals. Pleased for Glencross to get his brace, he deserved more than 2 goals going into tonight. But Hartley talked about puck luck with him and he got it. Johnny was superb again tonight, he is pure dynamite in OT too.

Monahan is such a clutch in shootouts, was convinced he was going to score. So so pleased we got the win when we looked down and out...no, cancel that. We didn't look down and out, we very rarely look down and out. Such heart and character and desire. Compare that to the dumpster fire up the road as well.

BUT, yet again we were severely shaky for large portions of the game. Ramo kept us in it on several occasions and we can't keep giving teams a 2 goal headstart and expecting to keep recover games in the final period. We have to learn to start better and need to buck our ideas up when under pressure in our own zone. Plenty for the coaches to work on with this group, but when they have such determination and guts, thats half the battle done for Hartley and staff.

Jooris was the main guy on the faceoffs in third period. One of the reasons he got so much ice time.

Really good move by Hartley to pull Ramo early for the extra attacker.

Listening to Eakins press conference he accepts that his team gave up after 2-0.
"It was expected"

Hartley would never say that.

So, have Jooris and Granlund been told to find a more permanent place to live yet?

Eakins looks like he is DONE.

Good on Friedman for bringing up the comparison between the Flames and Oilers.

but it looks like he won 2 of 3 with 6.5 mins tonight, if he is that good he should get more D zone starts. Will be interesting to see how he progresses.

still don't get his attempt in the shootout. Glad we won though.
