Bourque was pretty good in the playoffs last year. Even if he doesn't do #### before then, if he brings anywhere near a similar level of play to this years playoffs this might end up being a very good deal for the ducks.

My fear is he'll be more focussed on the Anaheim sun and Newport Beach.

Bergevin clearing dead weight off roster for next year. Galchenyuk and Gallagher both need new deals for next year.

Thus is just an odd trade to me. I cant believe that the Ducks would take Bourque and his salary. Bergevin is doing the happy dance I'm sure.

Might be a good situation for Bork. Heatley will be there to under-work him

Ducks trade Bryan Allen to Habs for Rene Bourque
Am I losing it, or do I remember Borque being a little upset about getting moved to montreal, and the team thinking there was a French connection where none existed? I realize you have to maintain a level of professionalism but sometimes the language barrier / culture is too different from your own. Hope he turns it around, I still remember when he would "turn up the volume" and be a total game breaker for us (followed by.. Spring break? Not sure, wasn't good though).

Time to set the definition of insanity straight.
"Insanity" means, but is not limited to, the following (i) doing something and expecting the same result to occur time and time again despite an overwhelming amount of evidence showing that the course of action taken will not yield a predictable result; (ii) doing a number of different things in hopes of certain outcomes, however, those different things do not produce the expected outcomes but instead produce eeerily similar results to doing the same thing over and over as described in (i); (iii) let's be honest, expecting any results in a world that has proven to be wholly unpredictable is pure folly; or (iv) being insane.

With Bourque and Heatley on that team it might be the two laziest forwards ever on one team.

I think you are misremembering.
While with the Flames, I remember him saying his two favourite hockey cities in the NHL were Chicago and Montreal.
I think he was probably pretty happy to land there.
He's probably pretty happy to land in Anaheim, too.

Montreal clearing some cap space for 2015. Bourque might become even lazier in that OC sun.

Hard to believe he could be lazier.

The epitome of a guy with all the tools and no tool box.
If he was shorter he'd already be at the Chrysler plant.

I think he has plenty more upside then Allen does, when was the last time he was relevant? The Luongo trade?

What I find more interesting is how quickly everyone forgets the flash in the pan playoff overachievers like Dustin Penner, Bourque, John Druce, Ville Leino, Steve Penny, Chris Kontos, Fernando Pisani that all reverted to who they were the rest of their careers. Bourque is what he is and one decent playoff performance doesn't change that. He will likely have some streaks of solid play for the Ducks to which fans will wonder if he's finally getting it together that will be inevitably followed by a long stretch where he looks like he would rather be anywhere else but on the ice.
