With injuries to Bennett, Jankowski, Poirier and Klimchuk (though he's now back) it sure has been nice to see Hunter Smith have a strong start to the season and give us a surprise guy to follow.

Who needs Connor McDavid.

7th in QMJHL in GAA and I believe he's 3rd in the league for save percentage. Next year you would think he would make a good case for the World Junior team.

If you've seen the iffy Charlottetown Islanders defence, you'd know how good those numbers truly are.

Klimchuk took a bad knee on knee collision tonight. Skated off the ice on his own power but immediately went to the room.

McDonald got pulled 5:25 into the 2nd period tonight for letting in 3 goals on 8 shots.

Charlottetown went on to lose 7-4.

Don't think McDonald was the issue

11 goals in 15 games. Not bad, not bad at all.

Pretty good night for our prospects all around. Carroll, Smith, Klimchuk all scored tonight. Jankowski and Gillies went head to head with Jack Eichel, and won. Not to mention the great premier for Poirier. Feels good. Cupboards are filling up rapidly.

They could both have long playoff runs in junior but if they don't I would expect both guys to spend some time in Adirondack at the end of the AHL season. I really look forward to seeing how they stack up against grown men.
