They still made the game. They just didn't make a next gen version of NHL 2014. They started both generations of NHL 2015 at the same time.

Ya, it feels like they developed this game for 2 years, when in actuality they didn't even spend a full year on it.
EDIT:
Content update #3 is out adding team play, draft timer, new 3rd jerseys, and a fix to the strategy bug that was driving me insane.

some EA guys were saying it would be the best day in the history of EA NHL hockey. Just a slight oversell. Wow, they delievered on the promise of a patch that entirely consists of stuff that should have been in the damn game in the first place!
I bought the game, I wish I hadn't, but I love hockey and the gameplay itself is a good effort, but the game as a whole is totally unacceptable. Missing features that we have had for years and years, still slow menu's (this isn't just an EA or NHL thing, wasn't PS4 suposed to be almost instantaneous?)., and lack of roster updates already. Seriously, Madden and The Show update rosters weekly, could NHL not hire some 18 year old hockey nerd and have him do this once a week for super cheap?

So online team play is patched in.
Played one game, was getting blown out and then all of us discovered you can have line brawls. 10 seconds left and we had 3 pairs of fights off every faceoff to end the game.

Is there a penalty for simulating games in BAGM? I want to play games in my BAP, but I actually want yo play only the role of the Coach/GM in BAGM. If there is a penalty, is there a way to turn it off? The Flames just went 26-44-12 in their second season (the first was worse, but not by much)

There is not. I sim almost every game in Be A GM.

I also created my son as a 16 year old and placed him on the Kootenay Ice. I was hoping to draft him in the 2017 draft, but I can't even scout him as of right now, and its the 2017 season.
I've checked every team in the league and no one has him on their roster. And yes, I created him before I stated my GM mode. I don't know what I did wrong, but I certainly did something.

How easy would it be to line up players for an online 5 vs 5 game? Can you invite several friends to a game at once?

Playing through my second (restarted) season and Baertschi has broken his nose 4 times now. Its the middle of January.
