Based on the report that he is alive and responding to treatment, it wouldn't be a stretch to say those people reviving him saved his life.
Mansbridge playing the can't confirm, can confirm, confirm confirm game with an Ottawa constable at the moment.

Reported dead by some. CPR doesn't usually mean good results. Success rate after CPR is extremely low

I think it was reported 2 people are at hospital, one with a gunshot wound, neither in life threatening condition.
But I'm not sure if one of those people was the soldier.

Don't know if it means anything but here is what I got this am. (Google translate).
Quote:
Due to the changing situation on the Hill , the school is in Safe Mode until further notice. The school is closed . We have implemented security measures and we ask you not to arrive at the school to pick up your child. We are all safe. As soon as the situation returns to normal we will notify you by a new message. have a nice day
|
And I just got this a couple of minutes ago.

Security measures are now lifted. We are now back to normal.

Worth noting I am about 15km East of Parliament Hill.
I would presume they have a response plan in place for such things and are acting on information from the Police.

I would doubt it. CPR, especially manual, is the last attempt at recovery. It's lower success.
But I hope he's one of the two.

Just want to clarify that the latest is that he is alive and responding to treatment, which negated earlier reports that he had died from NY Times et al.
He may have passed since then, but the latest we have got is that he is alive and I haven't seen anything saying he's dead since the reports that he's alive.

Makes sense if there's still a suspect at large. Here's hoping they track him/them down quickly.

Word from Kevin Vickers, (Sgt of Arms), himself is that he did in fact shoot the suspect - according to CBC.

Makes sense. One pic I saw of the emergency scene was shooting victim with ample amounts of blood on his leg, and what looked to be wrapped.
