Shell Canada just tweeted that there is only one more Calgary location left on the schedule. Didn't say where it was yet.

Haha, just saw that they're only on for an hour or so at each location. With my luck I'd drive across the city and spend half a tank of gas just to have the "last car" sign placed right in front of me.

It looks like the first couple locations for this have been in the North (Montgomery and Country Hills) so I'm guessing the South will get the last one.

Fortsask's location has just been announced, I assume edmonton and Calgary's location will be soon? Keep refreshing twitter feed and book it over if you want it.

Didn't realize it was only an hour at each location. Just trying to give a heads up to my fellow CPers out West, I am in SW Ontario so it has no effect on me. That sucks it is one hour only.

Yeah, the nerve of them to only give out 10's of thousands or maybe $100K worth of discounts to their customers. They should have given out 10's of millions of dollars worth.
By the way- don't go into McDonalds. You won't like how few people get free stuff with their promotion either.

And limiting the potential traffic snarls to just 1 hour per location as well? I mean what hell is that? Don't they know the MORE people you have a single location waiting for free stuff the better?

So turns out the final location is a Shell I pass every day on my commute home, so figured I'd check it out. Ya, it's absolute insanity. It's a Shell on Elbow Dr just off of Heritage Dr. Southbound, it's backed up all the way to the Glenmore Tr turnoff. It's caused a huge traffic jam for both lanes of SB Elbow Dr, kind of a mess. Traffic's barely moving.
I waited all of 5min before saying nuts to this and got outta there. With how far back I was I never woulda made it anyway, before the cutoff. Yechh, what a mess.

Considering how much oil and gas make every year to have a promo for one hour at select locations is pretty crappy.

It's not crappy for the people who saved a bunch on gas.
In terms of marketing power per dollar spent, I'm sure it'll be the best marketing they do all year.
