Both Jets games are listed on my Bell Centre Ice package and there doesn't appear to be any blackout in AB. I'm safe in BC though, so should be enjoying it in HD.

Speaking of the broadcast, the Jets seem to have a better contract with TSN than we do with Rogers, where we seem to be an afterthought.

The Jets are getting their exhibition games broadcast on TV while the Flames aren't. IIRC the only games we've seen are with the Canucks broadcast and the game in Slyvan Lake. That's 3 out of 9 games. I don't know how many Jets games have been televised but I've noticed their games on Centre Ice pretty regularly.

I see what you mean now.

The Flames will get all the games televised either regionally or nationally (there was more pre season excitement than usual years I think, but I'm thinking the regional station will fix that for next year, I hope), plus boat loads of money from both the national and regional deals.
Thought that's where you were going with the better deal part.

There is no TV for the Flames broadcast area. I would expect the Flames to announce an internet stream. They will probably not announce it until later in the day to maximize ticket sales.

According to Rick Ralph the Jets are sending the following lines:

no word on the d-pairings the Jets are sending yet

That Scheifele line with wingers Ehlers and Kane will be very fast. I really wish I could see the game to watch how the Flames counter them.

Yep, I have Telus satellite here in BC and looks like it is on channel 1451 on CI. Very nice

I'm not sure if it's management / coaching staff telling Baertschi to be more physical or if he is misinterpreting what they are telling him, but I just don't see the point of this.

He's a skill player, maximize his strengths, which are skating, shooting, making plays.

I understand being strong on the puck, and competing, but why ask him to be physical? You aren't asking Gaudreau to be physical, so why ask Sven?

There has to be some miscommunication here.

I always see Sven trying to throw big hits and that's not what he should be doing. YES he should be competing in scrums for the puck and being strong on his skates and not give up the puck easily, but throwing hits just shouldn't be part of his duties.

By playing physical, I assume he means engaging himself. Get into the puck battles in the corner, etc. Not necessarily referring to making a big hit.

He has been doing that.
