12 suites total, the 4 inner suites don't have windows because they are in the middle of the plane... but really the inner suites are the ones you want.
Based on this diagram you can see that the outer suites can't be combined into a double bed with the adjacent suite, and more importantly... when there's that much to do in your suite who wants to look outside?!

Amazing. My dream of an AC Business First "Pod" is so ghetto compared to that SIA Suites class....
If turbulence hits, I would demand a Singapore Girl rush over and hug me tightly instead of resorting to that plebian "seatbelt"

These are Air Canada's executive class pods for those unfamiliar...
All slave ship looking compared to Singapore. Those seats do recline into a pseudo-lie-flat bed to be fair...

To an extent, but it's also a matter of North American fliers being nowhere near as willing to pay such a premium, and those that are willing fly private aircraft. The other thing is the financial burden the airline takes on with this type of cabin, note this flight with only 3 of 12 suites occupied and the author is there because of an upgrade... fuel is about $180,000 for the two legs...

Even compared to Singapore Airline's coach seats, that doesn't look good. Where is the large touch screens with wifi, satellite phone, and iphone/ipod connectivity?

The screens are there, just folded away and not visible from that angle... here they are...
Also important to note, the pods are actually Air Canada's outgoing business class product, these are the new seats on the 787... can't miss the screen in this one:
And this is coach in Air Canada with AVOD (audio video on demand) at every seat.
Air Canada doesn't have to be better than Singapore, they have to be better than other North American carriers, which they are for the most part, and their executive product ranks highly among North American carriers.

I've flown Business Class on the Emirates A380 and sat in the pods on Air Canada, and honestly, the experience isn't really that different... EXCEPT for the bar in the back of the Emirates Business Class area. I killed at least half my 16 hour DXB-LAX flight hanging out back there. Just a great idea.
But Emirates First Class is just another experience altogether. Like the Singapore planes, they have individual suites and showers and everything. The price was double what I paid for Business, which wasn't exactly cheap.

That's a big meh from me.
I fly international 2/3 times a year, and while the comforts of business class are ok, I'm at the point where I watch movies 3/4 of the time, maybe catch a few zzzz's, and have some cocktails. All I like is the lay flat bed.
AC pods are nice, but they're not worth $4K on the YVR-PEK route I fly.
Air China has nice business class seats on the 330, but I wouldn't pay more than $3k on them either. The best part about that airline is the open bar, but they do that in coach as well.
I'm flying coach next week to Beijing for $1200 and while the extra leg room is nice for business class, it's not worth paying anything more than a couple grand to upgrade. I'll suffer to save a few (thousand) dollars.
$20k is an absurd waste of money for a few walls and better food. They should just call it the big ego small penis room.
