Some interesting stories to follow this season for sure. Once I'm really watching are:
-If TT can lock down top 6 in Chi then he should have a really strong year.
-Drouin probably is the most expected player to dominate. Really curious to see him in NHL action.
-Ehlers has been impressive in camp from what i have read.
-Gaudreau either lights the word on fire or...doesn't

a TT/JG/Drouin Calder reace would be fun. All "smaller" highly skilled players.

Agree with JG. He either comes in and piles up points, or he gets nothing. I can't see him developing into a 3rd line checker......it's pretty black and white there.

Drouin is the guy most will be picking to win the Calder, which he should if he plays to his potential.

I also always like following guys that come from nowhere like Tomas Hertl (as long as it doesn't include Canuck or Oiler draft picks). Or Toronto.

Kuznetsov is a key name not on that list. Would be my bet for the Caldar right now.

I think this is about the 3rd year in a row that someone has picked him for the Calder.

Maybe he pulls a Peter Stastny and comes over at 26 to ensure his victory.

(not saying that was PS's motivation)

Poirier's out til late October/early November most likely, almost definitely starts in Adirondack.

But he is over, has been for a bit now.

17 games last year, 9 points.

Nikita Zadorov would still be a rookie, though he'd be a longshot at best for the Calder.

Yea, Kuznetsov is actually playing in the NHL this year. He'll be in the Calder conversation for sure.

Gaudreau is the only one who doesn't get a first name!

I think the good money is on a John. Is there somewhere you can package all three together and bet?

Jiri Sekac, not a traditional rookie, but a guy that looks to get top 6 minutes in Montreal. Could be a great late round sleeper in pools

He has the potential for sure, it may depend on who ends up getting the most starts between him and Andersen.

Last year in 29 games Andersen went 20-5-0, 2.29 GAA and a 0.923 Save Percentage and he finished 9th in Calder voting.

Strome is ready to contribute. Teravainen has the burden of expectation and a tough lineup to crack, but if he gets the opportunity he'll be dynamite. Ditto for Drouin.

My dark horse Calder winner would be Mantha if he hadn't fractured his tibia.

Gaudreau could have a shot at this one.
