Does this say anything about Johnny's chances, considering he's sitting out with a lot of guaranteed players? Or just giving him some extended rest?

I don't think its a guarantee of anything. I think it just indicates that the coaching staff is pretty confident in knowing what they've got in him, I think that they need to give more of the bubble players or below bubble players a chance to bring their games up.

I know it's a meaningless preseason game but can we just beat these guys for once? It's kind of getting embarrassing getting rolled by these guys annually.

It's actually missing their second and most of their third line, but that blue line is a huge step up from the joke that the Canucks iced yesterday.
Somehow I do not foresee a repeat of last night's +30 shot performance from the Flames.
