I'm on the other side about Klimchuk, he's not producing poi ts but he's been very effective in every other aspect of the game. I've really enjoyed watching him. His speed is up there too, did not expect him to be that quick, great hustle.
Agreed. He might not be too noticeable offensively so far but he's doing all the little things right. Arnold too. Both seem to give 110% at all times

so what's the upside on Klimchuck? He's not a point producer so would he be more of a third line defensive forward who might chip in the occasional point?

He can produce points.
2011-2012 - .54 PPG - 16 years old
2012-2013 - 1.06 PPG - 17 years old
2013-2014 - 1.30 PPG - 18 years old

I do like the initial comparison on his draft day to Steve larmer.
^^^ I think Klimchuk is destined to be a pro unless something really wrong happens in his development track. He's put up points pretty well in junior and definitely has some solid offensive skills to go along with good work ethic, smart defensive play, and a little bit of leadership. I think he tops out as a 2nd line all-around winger who can play PK and tough minutes against quality opposition. Possibly ends up on the 3rd line with guys like Gaudreau and Baertschi likely going to be our top 2 left wingers (barring a trade of course).

Tonights lines look great in my opinion.
Gaudreau-Bennett-Carroll, you get the speed and skill of Gaudreau and Bennett, and Carroll has been a beast physically, he's looked solid defensively, and has still performed very well in the offensive zone.
Hathaway-Elson-Jooris, All three have looked effective at what they do, Elson's speed has really impressed me, Jooris should be a good line mate for him.
Klimchuk-Arnold-Van Brabant will be a solid defensive line, with potential to contribute offensively, while supplying a lot of grit as well. Arnold has stood out the most of this line for me, the guy just never quits, looks like another Bouma type.
And then Ferland-Granlund-Smith.... that line is terrifying. They can easily create offense, especially with the other team fearing for their lives. That line is going to be fun to watch tonight!

Throughout this tourney, I love the fact that on every single line, there is a guy on there that can protect the skill guys. From Ferland, Smith, Van BraBant, Carroll, Hathaway can all handle the rough stuff.
You just knew that Ewanyk thought about roughing up Bennett after he layed him out the other night, but as soon as he saw Ferland there, he just went for his stick.
This is why you need guys like this, it allows your best players to be your best players.

Very excited to watch this game tonight, especially since Johnny G is confirmed to be in the lineup. Just got back from vacation and haven't had a chance to see any of the kids play yet. If not for the vacation I would have strongly considered a trip to Penticton to watch the tourney live.

Since Larmer was brought up I figured a quick comparison was in order.
Team League GP G A Pts PIM

1979–80 Niagara Falls Flyers OMJHL 67 45 69 114 71

2013–14 Regina Pats WHL 57 30 44 74 27
2014-15…?
Larmer at 16: 0.66 PPG
Larmer at 17: 1.27 PPG
Larmer at 18: 1.70 PPG
Larmer at 19: 2.18 PPG
Larmer was amazing, even had 90 points in 80 games his rookie season. Granted, it was the 80s, and they played in different junior leagues where defense is regarded differently, but still, if Klimchuk came anywhere close to Larmer he'd be a 1st line winger. I think he's just a shade below that and likely more of a 2nd liner.

I've been saying for a while that someone like TJ Oshie is a reasonable attempt to guess Klimchuk's upside. Similar size, both have a good two way game.. I couldn't think of a better comparison, so that's what I'm going to go with.

When the Granlund line is on the ice with Kanzig's pairing, it will combine for 31 feet, 3 inches and 1060lbs (over half a tonn). An Average of 6'3" 212lbs.
If they start that line against the Canucks, how much will Huska get fined??
I'm not going to be able to watch this one live. Does anyone know when and where the game in its entirety shows up? I think I saw someone post the other games but can't find them.

Similar skillset to Brenden Morrow. May never put up huge points, and probably tops out as a second line guy, but does a lot of the little things right and certainly won't hurt you when he's on the ice. Perhaps future captain or alternate material.

I second this. Anyone know where the full games are uploaded? I'll only be able to see 30 minutes or so (dang work).
