Here is the email I received this morning after sending in my complaint over the week end. TSN 3,4,5 are still not avialable on Shaw south of Calgary.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

Let me clarify the nature of TSN’s five feeds:
· There is no “main” TSN feed
· All feeds are available nationally
· There is no hierarchy among these feeds – each feed is equal and features a selection of our programming

IF YOU ARE AN ANALOG SUBSCRIBER OR IF YOUR TV SERVICE PROVIDER HAS NOT OPTED TO CARRY TSN1-5
If you are an analog subscriber, or if your TV service provider hasn’t opted to carry TSN’s five feeds, what was formerly TSN is now TSN1, TSN3, TSN4 or TSN5 depending on where you are located in the country. Nothing has changed with TSN2.

Among TSN1, TSN3, TSN4 and TSN5, one has been assigned as the primary feed for a respective region of the country:
· TSN1: Primary feed for British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon
· TSN3: Primary feed for Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwest Territories and parts of Northern Ontario (including 60 regional Winnipeg Jets games)
· TSN4: Primary feed for Ontario, excluding Ottawa (including 26 regional Toronto Maple Leafs games)
· TSN5: Primary feed for Ottawa, parts of Southeastern Ontario, Quebec and all Atlantic Canada (including 53 regional Ottawa Senators games)
WHY EACH REGION HAS A PRIMARY FEED
Each region has been assigned a primary feed to enable TSN to:
· Deliver TSN content to analog subscribers, or those subscribers whose TV service providers have not made TSN1-5 available
· Deliver regionally relevant TSN content to certain areas of the country. For example, TSN3 is home to 60+ regional Winnipeg Jets games – but those games are only available to subscribers living in the Jets’ designated broadcast region (as per the NHL).

Shaw has signed up to carry all five TSN feeds. However, as you noted, there are issues affecting Shaw customers in certain areas. Shaw has assured their customers that they are working quickly to resolve this issue, and are advising customers to check shaw.ca/updates for frequent updates. We understand your frustrations and encourage you to continue to contact Shaw for updates on the availability of TSN1-5.
Kind regards,
Eric

What a waste of network feeds! 4 of the 5 feeds tonight are showing the Vancouver Whitecaps MLS game concurrently. Come on TSN. At least put Happy Gilmore on one of the channels on a Saturday night.

That's by design, actually, and it is explained in the post immediately above yours.

The value in the extra feeds will primarily come from things like the tennis majors, English soccer and NCAA football/basketball where they can show the same sport to everyone, but different match-ups on each feed for the benefit of those who get all five.

perhaps this questions should be a poll - but when an event you want to watch is on TSN1, 2,3 and 5 at teh same time - what process do you use to decide which feed to watch it on.

Personally I'd go for 5 mostly because 5 > 1.

LOL, I like that thinking. I prefer 1 because it's at the top of the chart.

Lethbridge and Canmore should have them already. Medicine Hat, Brooks, Drumheller, Red Deer, Pincher Creek on Sep 11.
