Default Samsung announces new note 4, Note edge and Gear VR

I'm a big fan of my Note 3, my brother is picking up the Note 4 and I have to say the VR looks quite impressive. The idea of the edge is quite neat, not sure if its a thing that will catch on, but the flexible screen's are coming and they should allow for some really cool phones in the near future.

I posted a video review of the Note 4 Edge in the Android thread yesterday.

My hardware upgrade is up this Fall and I'm pretty sure the Note 4 / Edge will be my front runners.

I wish the Edge would work with the Gear VR though, that would make it a must buy for me, I want to check out the VR first before I decide whether to upgrade from note 3 to the note 4 or go with the edge.

Always wanted a Note. Since the first one. Just always been too much money, even on a new contract. That Note 4 looks awesome. Dunno...might take the plunge this time.

Same here, I do a lot on my phone, rarely touch the laptop outside of work and the bigger screen for email, word and spreadsheet work would be great. I can get the Note 3 for $100 through my work and I am seriously tempted to do it. Hoping it drops again with the release of the 4.

I think the Edge looks cool and I could see a lot of uses for it.

Here is something interesting. I know, I know, not the same thing, lower amount of RAM, etc. But for $164....with no contract, it might be worth a try. Only 3G, but still:

I have a hard time buying knockoffs like that though, probably pretty decent but I'd rather shell out for the good stuff, mind you work pays most of my costs so that helps a lot lol

Do NOT buy knockoffs in the Android world, you'll just be wasting your money. With only a gig of ram that thing will be sluggish as hell, and it has a very low resolution for how big that screen is so it'll look like crap. If you really can't afford a Note 4, then just wait until October. The Nexus 6 should be announced and the OnePlus One will be finally available for general orders, and both are the cheapest flagship phones you can buy off a contract

Yeah. I've heard good and bad things, but mostly bad. I'm going to wait I guess. Really want a 5.5 - 5.7 screen though.

5.5 seems to be the new screen size standard so don't worry there. The OnePlus is that size and the Nexus 6 sounds like it will be too

Yup. Most likely go from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6.

The Note 4 Edge will not be available until next year in Canada. I was hoping to see one (in person) soon as the more I see the more I like it. Pretty sure my next phone will either be the 3 or 4, just need to decide if I spend money or get the free one.
