Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has hired Hockey Hall of Famer Joe Nieuwendyk to serve as a professional scout and advisor.
“Joe brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our organization,” said Francis. “He will be based in Dallas, and will be a major asset to the Hurricanes in player evaluations.”

I'm sure he'll do a good job scouting the 3 minor hockey players there.

Yeah, but it seems in hockey if you aren't involved in some capacity, you're soon forgotten about. What was Burke doing before he got this job?

Maybe that's the type of job he was looking for. Not having to move from Dallas and be with his family.
