no idea what the fee is, reports have been conflicting. English journalists have tweeted nearly every figure between £6m and £12m, while reports in France say it's a €10m loan deal (£8m) for a year with a €55m (£43m) option to buy. Apparently RvP needs surgery and will be out for a while, so it kinda makes sense. What makes me happy is that City wanted him too and were ready to offload Negredo to make it happen financially, so whenever you can beat a rival to a big signing, that's great.
Lots of options now. Besides the 3-5-2, they could go for a 4-4-2 diamond with Blind - Herrera di Maria - Mata behind Rooney and Falcao. They could opt for a 4-2-3-1 with di Maria and two of Rooney, Mata and Januzaj behind Falcao. Still need a CM though ...

At least with a purchase, be it Balotelli or someone else, you have to option to turn around and sell the player to recoup something.
And normally I'd agree with you, but for a loan?
This was the article I read a few days ago:
Quote:
Monaco have set a fee of 20 million euros to take Falcao on loan for a season.
|
http://www.espnfc.com/league-name/st...07985/headline
And his wages are on top of that which would likely be another 10M Euros or so.
Davey boy must be choked that management never gave him over £150M in one window.

everywhere I read the wages were involved in the fee, but it may be wrong
either way like I said its a drop in the bucket for them, and unlike Chelsea/Man City who have to worry about meeting FFP, United don't, their revenues will always allow them to spend

#AFC have agreement with #MUFC for permanent Welbeck signing. Fee in region of £16m, no issues expected with medical & terms #bbcdeadlineday
so Lallana moves for £27m, but United sells Welbeck to a rival for £16m. Is there a worse club than United when it comes to selling players? Can't think of any.

Palace get Zeki Fryers from Tottenham.
Great job Levy. Picked a kid up and paid him for nothing for a year and a half.

great transfer window for Hull, they have really solidified in the last 12 months with quality players, I think they could push for top half this year
Huddlestone
Jelavic
Dawson
Livermore
Hernandez
Ince
all great signings, and now Ben Arfa on loan so no risk is a great move

I think Welbeck will do well for Arsenal as well, he will fit in with the attacking trio behind him, his work rate and link up play for great, and when you have Sanchez/Ozil/Ramsey behind you not being the greatest finisher isn't the biggest issue

don't be.
Mark Ogden @MOgdenTelegraph No concerns at #mufc over Falcao. Medical done, paperwork in, now just needs PL to sign it off. PL fairly busy tonight, though, oddly enough
Transfer Central TNC @TransferNewsCen OFFICIAL: Radamel Falcao has completed his seasons loan move to Manchester United from Monaco. Includes option to buy
confirmation by the club should come soon.

As I don't think a World Class hold-up striker was in Wenger's plans, I'm happy with our new addition. Not getting a DM on the other hand... Nevertheless, #WelcomeWelbeck

I didn't realize Welbeck is still only 23. He will still get better.

Well, the transfer window is over.
Quote:
Manchester United broke the Premier League record by spending 153 million pounds in the summer transfer window.
The 2012-13 league champions -- who broke the British transfer record with the 59.7 million-pound signing of Angel di Maria -- topped the previous highest sum of 140 million pounds spent by their neighbours Manchester City in 2009.
United's net spend of 125 million pounds was also the biggest recorded by an English club in one transfer window, while the 20 Premier League clubs paid a record 835 million pounds between them.

Davey boy musy be choked that they gave Louis £153M compared to what they let him spend.

realistically, it would take Moyes about 20-25 players to spend that much
Falcao and Di Maria arent signing for a first year Moyes, if he had won a trophy or two he could have started attracting bigger names

Never let it be said that you aren't persistent Locke.
And your point is?
Moyes didn't deserve to be left in charge of such funds.
