apparently it's now only a loan deal for Chicharito with a €22m option to buy ... would have prefered a sale, but whatever.

Is it just Madrid paying his wages? Because if so thats a terrible deal for United. They'll never get more than 20M Euro for him and Madrid wont permanently buy him barring a miracle and in 2 years he'll be 28 with six seasons of pine splinters in his ass.
In other fun news that eventually relates to BPL:
Quote:
Ryan Nelsen is out as Toronto FC's head coach. TFC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko announced on Sunday that the club had parted ways with Nelsen and assistants Jim Brennan and Fran O'Leary.
Assistant GM Greg Vanney, a former MLS and U.S. national team defender, will step into the top job on a full-time basis.
"Over the past 13 matches we've won three games," Bezbatchenko said at an afternoon news conference. "I know we can get more out of our guys."

And as a result:
Quote:
Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe has emerged as a surprise target for Queens Park Rangers in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
The firing of Toronto FC coach Ryan Nelsen and his backroom staff on Sunday has done little to quash the suggestion that Defoe is already looking to make a return to England's Premier League. The striker made the move to MLS five months ago.
Defoe has scored 11 goals for Toronto in his 16 appearances in the MLS since his move from Tottenham last January, but Nelsen's situation seems to have frustrated the 31-year-old former England national player, who was initially lured to Canada by the prospect of working with former Spurs teammate Nelsen.

Thats a shame.

nah there's also a loan fee ... only 2 or 3m I believe, but better than nothing. Can only hope he tears it up at Real.

Christ. Please don't tell me there's delusional United fans on here as well. You think you'd get roughly £18m for Hernandez?!
Don't get me wrong, he's got (or, had) the potential to demand that fee, but he's done next to nothing in 2 years.

so I'm delusional because Telegraph, Guardian etc reporters said that the fee would be 16m before correcting themselves because it was only a loan instead? Seriously? An 18m option to buy was included in the deal, so that isn't delusional at all, that's a fact. I highly doubt Real will use it, but it is there. I haven't said anything else.
Anyway ... United have now signed Radamel Falcao on loan
Mark Ogden ✔ @MOgdenTelegraph
Loan agreed for Falcao at Mufc
Bryan Swanson ✔ @skysports_bryan
We're told Manchester United have agreed loan over Radamel Falcao subject to medical and terms. More on @SkySportsNewsHQ #mufc

Oh my God, I can't believe United are paying that ludicrous loan fee for Falcao.

I prefer Falcao on an expensive loan to Balotelli on a permanent deal
no idea what the fee is, reports have been conflicting. English journalists have tweeted nearly every figure between £6m and £12m, while reports in France say it's a €10m loan deal (£8m) for a year with a €55m (£43m) option to buy. Apparently RvP needs surgery and will be out for a while, so it kinda makes sense. What makes me happy is that City wanted him too and were ready to offload Negredo to make it happen financially, so whenever you can beat a rival to a big signing, that's great.
Lots of options now. Besides the 3-5-2, they could go for a 4-4-2 diamond with Blind - Herrera di Maria - Mata behind Rooney and Falcao. They could opt for a 4-2-3-1 with di Maria and two of Rooney, Mata and Januzaj behind Falcao. Still need a CM though ...

With TFC going down the tubes pretty quickly this week (Lieweke basically out after managing to get owners to loosen the purse strings, then coach tells GM to backoff after GM calls the game this week the most important of the season, team then loses 3-0 in said game and coach rants, GM fires coach the next day, an "injured" Dafoe (who coach and Leiweke splashed the cash for, now suddenly on the block) drawing interest from several teams in the EPL, including Arsenal (according to BBC/TSN).

Falcao is a great signing
if it costs 20m (6m fee plus his wages) it's a drop in the bucket for United, and while it doesn't really fix their biggest issues, he's a world class player you never turn that down

Well if there's one thing Spurs need, it's another inconsistent striker.
