e.
I got a penalty shot with Rick Nash. Spntohing really unexpected -- it's nice that they got rid of the stupid 'shootout camera angle' and can just take your shots from the normal angle (both in the shootout and penalty shot). I scored on a dirty backhand.

Also a couple times I've dived to block a shot and taken out my own goalie lol. Gotta watch out for that.

I enjoyed the demo, but seeing as I enjoyed 14, that's not overly surprising. My only problems with the game will be easily remedied with sliders (goals are too easy, passing a little too accurate etc.). Overall I'm excited for my preorder to arrive.

The menus are massive upgrade and the crowd is cooler than I expected. I really like seeing camera guys walking around in a goal replay... little stuff like that makes me happy. It's not a game changer of course, but little details add to the experience.

The demo was alright. Played it a few times last night and was impressed with a couple little things and see some potential with others. But at the end of the day, I fail to see anything truly ground breaking.

And of course, I am now truly failing to see why EA couldnt implement EASHL and GM Connected. Speaking with a couple guys from my EASHL club, one theory is that EA has nothing going for the NHL 16 so they have forecasted sales to drop. So to mitigate that, they have chosen to release multiplayer in NHL 16 to give the customer something "new". Agree or disagree... its an opinion and a perspective. Have a better one? Please share. If not...

Moving on...

The crowd was alright. I look forward to seeing the crowd holding Flames signs and seeing girls in the stands with signs that say "Stajan, score a goal for me" and the girl having a really disapointed look on her face.

As for game play, I think im most impressed with the player movement. The player seems alot more crisp and fluid and less like a pudgy cartoon.

I wasnt overly impressed with the puck. It almost felt like they tried so hard to fix it that they almost broke it. I barely hold down th pass button for arocket pass. Infact it feels all passed are rocket passes. I dunno.. Something still feels off with it. But I do like the proper bounces on the dump in.

Overall, im looking forward to the evolution of the game... But I am still really failing to see why they could not have included EASHL and GM Connected but were able to do HUT.. I just dont get it. There is absolutely nothing ground breaking here.

** Oh and like OOTQ, I also would get breakaways and suddenly spin move and get checked.. WTF is with that ??!

Graphically the game is pleasing, but it did not live up to the hype the trailers put around it.

I've only played about five games on the demo so far but my opinion of the game is its fantastic and ultra realistic, i love it. I'm still pretty upset that there's no EASHL but believe the OTP patch will suffice this year. I can't wait to play with my Flames in Be a GM mode, I'm sure this has been answered in a previous post but does anyone know if Johnny Hockey will be a playable Flames prospect in the game this year? Thanks

As for the accurate rocket passing and overally gameplay, EA does this every year with the demo. They make it more "arcadey" to please the casual NHL fans and convince them to buy the game.

Also IgiTang, I'm sad that the Fata's will not get the chance to beat your team all year again :/

considering he's played an NHL game, i would assume he is in the game, and wouldn't have the same delay we see with prospects that enter the game as a player in the AHL.

Oh, see, I was just disagreeing with what you said. I didn't know you were just looking for an excuse to start trashing the game in general and anyone who defends it. Back to my point:

Pretty much every single face is accurate to to the player, they even have Nash's stupid looking smile. There was one player on NY that had a generic face, and I ASSUME there's probably one on LA.

So your "faces look generic for the most part" is objectively wrong. I'm all for people fairly criticising EANHL, but some people just bend over backwards to do so :P

I think the sliders are set to make it easy on purpose because the periods are so short. I'm sure it'll be fixed for the actual release.

Also, I love that they made fighting less frequent. I don't have to fight every single time I run someone over, so that's cool.

I've had everything you've mentioned but a penalty shot.

I haven't had a single powerplay yet. Tons of penalty kills, but no powerplays.

I've had two powerplays and two penalty kills in 3 games.

On top of something you said previously, I also found the puck physics great. There were some great bounces, and even one of those odd bounces you see in actual games (where the puck hits the boards funny and it changes course a bit). It was definitely a weird bounce, but one I've seen in actual NHL games, so that was pretty awesome.

He should be. He's played an NHL game, and he was in NHL 14 after the last roster update.

I wasn't blown away with the demo. The only reason I'm not cancelling the pre-order, because of the EASHL cancellation, is because I skipped NHL 14 and I'm desperate for some hockey.

I've had a goal disallowed (kicked in), shootout, fight (for taking a slapper at Lundqvist after the whistle), and unsportsmanlike (because no one wanted to fight Gaborik).

I'm definitely buying the game, I like it. Though the game definitely needs some polish. The transitions are pretty choppy, as the game will stop the frame and fade it out instead of just doing a transition between scenes. Also it feels like the video scenes with Doc and Eddie are... well, they have some judder to them, like you're watching a sitcom instead of a live sports broadcast. But the presentation is amazing overall including the NBC branding, VERY welcomed improvement. I could probably fool my parents into thinking a hockey game was on.

Goalie fights are a bit fun. Playing goal is tough this year, though. Quick wristers!

Last night, I scored two shorthanded goals on the same PK. That felt great, mainly because they both happened in plausible ways.

depends on your definition of "accurate" sorry I am not impressed with those faces for next gen. NBA 2k14 faces look twice as good

I am not going out of my way to bash I pre-ordered the game FFS just giving an opinion. I am not impressed with the graphics if you are thats fine

I already said "its not a bad game" not sure why you are jumping all over me for "bashing it" I wish gamers would expect more but its kinda hard with only one hockey game

Because you said most of the faces are generic.

They aren't.
That's all!

If you meant you were hoping the faces would look even better (which I gather from this post) then that's cool, and a totally fair opinion. Maybe "generic" was just the wrong choice of words.

My opinion is definitely different. I thought the detail (down to getting some specific player expressions in) is pretty impressive.

Have you played NBA 2k14? the faces are miles better...and we shall see...I get the feeling lots of Flames players won't be properly represented as in past years
