Isn't it?
I mean, you did say marriage was basically legal prostitution, so I just kind of assumed....

I don't get all the talk about divorce costing you half of your money.
How many married people here think they would be more financially successful as a solo person rather than a couple?

So then what's the point? You're basically denying all the good elements of both sides of the married/single coin because you're afraid of either committing too much or not committing at all. The money isn't even a comparable factor because both single and married guys can get money and both can also be broke too.

If you as a men marry someone who makes more than you; you will be better financially. Though most women want a men who will make more than she does. I know people will hate me for saying this(they already do) while a women is likely to sleep with someone who makes less than her, she's unlikely to marry someone who make less than her.

Well, that depends. Do they have kids?
I'm not married, or have kids, so I don't have those associated expenses. I'm not saying I'm wealthier because of it, but I will suggest that I likely have fewer expenses.

Newsflash: It's common knowledge that men make more than woman, so yeah, it's likely women will marry a man who makes more than her.

The fact you continue to believe everything in a relationship comes down to money is probably why you fail so miserably with women.

You obviously have no idea how to "use" someone if you are working and earning more than them.

Pro tip, don't flaunt your supposed wealth in front of women. Most don't care about it, and the ones that do aren't the ones you marry.

I think I figured out prime333's problem....
When you work at McD's and live in mom's basement it is really hard to attract women that make less than you and are less successful at life than you. That really kills the whole "i gots the pow-ah bi-aches" mogo. Therefore, instead of, you know, getting an education or trade and getting a real job that makes you feel good about yourself, it is far easier to say "biatches don't be controllin' me" and "i only werks to meet my own needz and the mama-bear gets me mah pizza pops and pays for the interwebz... so needs met beeeee---atches".
Don't be controlled by women (mama don't be counting) - check.
Only earn enough to meet your own selfish needs - check.
Involuntary celibacy - check.
Contribute nothing to society - check.
Good job prime333 - sounds like you got it all figured out.

Sorry, the McD's reference was uncalled for.
How's Tim Horton's treating you these days? Either way, you are clearly Involuntarily Celibate, so check that off the list!!!! Yahh!
Glad Darwin will take care of this, given time.

Kids are a whole different financial story. Or so I am told.
I am married with no kids and my wife works full time. I make more money than she does, but we are both far better off financially when we combine our income and expenses. If we had to split up we would have two house payments, higher grocery bills and far less free time. The chores and errands don't double when you live together. Cooking for two is no more effort than cooking for one.
So, the end result is you have more money and more free time. Unfortunately, I just learned that I have less leverage which kinda sucks. I didn't even know I had any leverage and suddenly I find out I have less of it than I used to. It is like finding out that your long lost uncle left you a bunch of money in his will but the lawyer spent half of it trying to track you down. You didn't know it was yours until after you found out it was gone, but it is still a bit sad.
