Big fan of this team, but this stripping captaincies is getting ridiculous. What a bunch of BS. They are scared to rip the team up (which is sensible), but feel STH's want some changes.
Ice strumpets and moving letters on jerseys around it is then.

I've never been a fan of these strippings, but this is especially ridiculous. Thornton gets to compete for his own captaincy?
Pre-training camp: "We feel you may no be the right leader for this team."
Post-training camp: "Never mind! You da man!"
If you're going to take it away, just be upfront about it.

Wow I used to think SJ was a pretty well run team but this is pretty bush league.

Whoever the captain may be, the Sharks will come out of the gates blazing: Marlow is going to be the talk of the league for the first quarter of the season and how Jumbo Joe is such a great center for Marlow and Pavelski. Down the stretch, they'll cruise to the playoffs and they'll likely finish in the the top 3 of the Western Division. Then, come the playoffs and they'll exit either in the first or second round.
There's nothing wrong with that team. It's just how they approach the season as compared to a team like the Kings.

Feels more like constructive dismissal than a stripping. Not happy he didn't wave his no trade I guess. Lost in game 7 to the Stanley Cup champs without your best defenceman, so blow it up?
