The flip side of that though, Speaking Polish with a foreign accent, works well in Poland... Usually... Sometimes they just think you're handicapped... that might not be the accent though...

As a young guy myself- my "go to" is canoeing in the reservoir. Pretty cheap, something active, and even if she isn't super active you can paddle around for her. Still gives opportunities for conversation and is relatively original. You can spend about 1-2 hours and then go for a beer or coffee after if things are going well
Canoe club rents everything for under 20 bucks
