Even if it sucks I'll still probably buy it. The only things I really care about are better menus, less lag, no pausing in online and every eashl game actually counting instead of null games. I don't think that's too much to ask, basic multiplayer functionality that is on par with industry standards.
Could you imagine if a game like Call of Duty had pausing online, matches that are needlessly long due to the menus and matches that didn't count, people would go insane.

Um, Patrick Kane is better than an 89 in any world anybody lives in. And to suggest Hossa is better than him is ridiculous.
In general actually the ratings of these 5 best players at each position are sort of low. What does it take to get over 95? the best players in the world should be around 95-100 because by default there literally is nobody else better than them in the world... these ratings seem similar to previous years and it's something that always bugged me very slightly.
People on team France rated like 50-60's when in real life should be more like 30-40... and the best players rated higher. There is a huge spread in skill between all these different groups of players. Then you could also include a much more noticeable and longer term growth profile for players in GM Mode as they progress towards their potential.

I'd say Hossa is better than Kane. He's probably the most complete RW'er in the entire league. Kane's offensive attributes should be the highest in the game though.
92 - Hossa
92 - Perry
91 - Kane
89 - Kessel
88 - St. Louis
Would be how I'd put it.

Kane's offensive stats are much higher than Hossa's, but Hossa is good at everything, so his overall rating is higher. It makes sense if you look at it that way.
And I also agree that I don't really like how they do the player ratings. I wish the ratings were more spread out, it sucks having every NHL player within 15 points overall. Crosby should be at least 97 overall, and your average 3rd liners should be in the low-mid 70s, AHL players should be in the 50s/60s, and so on.

Hopefully player variances, in skill and style, are more pronounced in the new generation. It gets kind of redundant having such a small difference between role players and superstars.

Who does everyone think should be the top 5 centers? I'm going to guess Crosby, Toews, Malkin, Stamkos and Getzlaf (probably in that order).
edit
Getzlaf - 92 overall
Datsyuk - 93 overall
Toews - 93 overall
Stamkos - 93 overall
Crosby - 96 overall
Datsyuk shouldn't be in the top 5 anymore, other than that they're pretty spot on. Toews could probably be a little higher.

Yea, the ratings need to have more impact on the games for sure. It barely affects anything. The speed of skaters is one of the most noticable. Someone like Matt Duchene makes most defenders look like they're standing still in real life, but in the game almost everyone is able to keep up.

Giordano didn't crack the top 50 players. That means his rating is probably still 85 overall. Oh well.
Here's the whole list of the top 50.

Never played EASHL, no care. I just want to see some real gameplay and hear about improvements made to Be A GM and Live the Life.

EASHL and HUT both make EA a tonne of money in DLC purchases. Would make little to no sense for them to remove that revenue stream.

I just want Be A GM mode to have some substance. It's so bland right now. Let me hire some staff that directly effects the performance of my team. Let me hire a full scouting staff so that I don't have to worry about where to send my scout every few weeks while simming.
Also, I want to be able to customize the uniforms for a pre-existing team. Maybe I'm the only one who cares about this, but I would love to be able to do that. It would be perfect if you could do this in the middle of a Be A GM career. It gets old wearing the same jerseys if you manage the same team for a real long time.

Even though I never play online this might actually affect me quite a bit. EASHL and HUT are money-making cows, and the loss of revenue could impact innovation and improvement going forward.

I know HUT has those stupid packs that people contantly complain about, but what do EASHL players waste their money on?
