Celtic have been reinstated to the Champions League after Legia Warsaw were punished for fielding an ineligible player. Legia won the third qualifying round tie 6-1 on aggregate but brought on Bartosz Bereszynski in the second leg, while he was supposed to be suspended.
As a result Celtic were handed a 3-0 'walkover' win for the second leg, taking them through on away goals.
Celtic will play Maribor of Slovenia in the play-offs later this month.
The court of arbitration for sport (Cas) has upheld Luis Suárez’s ban and fine for biting the Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini but the Barcelona striker has won a victory of sorts by being cleared to train with his new team-mates and play in friendlies.The 27-year-old remains ineligible to play in competitive matches during the four-month period, and his nine-game international suspension remains in place but he could be seen in action as early as Monday, when Barcelona take on Mexico’s Club Leon in aa pre-season friendly at the Camp Nou.
“The sanctions imposed on the player by Fifa have been generally confirmed,” Cas said in a statement, meaning the earliest the striker can return for Barcelona in a competitive fixture is 26 October, when, as fate would have it, the club face Real Madrid at the Bernabéu in the first clásico of the season.
“However, the four-month suspension will apply to official matches only and no longer to other football-related activities (such as training, promotional activities and administrative matters).”

The Spanish football federation has suspended the Atlético Madrid coach, Diego Simeone, for eight matches after he was sent off during the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
The federation announced its decision on Monday, three days after the Spanish champions beat Real Madrid 1-0 to win the Super Cup 2-1 on aggregate.
Simeone was suspended for four games for tapping the back of the linesman’s head, two games for protesting, one game for applauding his sending-off, and one game for remaining in the stands instead of leaving the stadium after his sending-off.
Jeez, they sure went to town on him. Two games for protesting?
And speaking of protesting Bilbao got jobbed big time by the ref against Malaga, first with a perfectly good header in the 94th minute by their keeper disallowed right at the death and then to rub salt in it a few seconds later they have a pretty clear penalty appeal turned down.
