I find that more women know how to tie ties than men. All I do is ask an attractive female to do it any time I have to.

Just wear this shirt:

Just like a really good clip on tie, you may not have been able to tell that this is actually a t shirt with a tuxedo drawn on it, and not a real tuxedo.

Agh, you beat me to it.
OP, it seems like you have your mind made up about wearing a clip on. Im not sure why you are so stubborn about this and are not willing to take reasonable advice. Unless you are a hipster, Im not sure whats going on. The clip on just screams "I don't care about my appearance." I was going to suggest that you just wear a tuxedo tshirt as its pretty much equivalent for a grown man to wear either.

Edit: I apologize if you are physically not able to tie a tie due to a disability. My post would be insensitive in that case. Id be willing to pre-tie a tie for you as Im sure others on here would as well.

For some people, I guess.

For others, misspelling the word "adulthood" when telling other people how to be an adult would be considered embarrassing and lazy.

The only people over the age of 12 who should ever wear a clip-on tie are cops, and that's only so someone can't grab their tie and strangle them with it.

Now, I think even the police only wear ties when in their formal uniforms and for court appearances.

Get this: I bought a brand new VW Passat a month ago haha. Generally it's better to buy used, but I've made exceptions.

Anyway, I will find an awesome clip-on tie somehow someway. I do care about my appearance, which is why I want a nice one. You'll see, you guys. YOU'LL SEE!

Have you thought about just getting a tie and learning how to tie it?

Those two things cannot co-exist.

If this schlub can get away with not wearing a tie, surely you can too...

Gee, that's a great suggestion, Rhettzky. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

This thread is great, I admire the sticktuitveness of the OP. A Man wants what he wants. On a side note, does anyone know where I can pick up some good velcro running shoes? Something compareable to the RBK Zig Techs.

All this talk about ties makes me wonder whether a clip-on tie with an image of a lake on it is objectively better than one without.

A zipper tie is another option.

Quote:
What is a Zipper tie ?
A zipper tie is essentially a regular tie with a permanent knot and a zipper mechanism inside it, which allows you to adjust the width of the neck accordingly.
Adjusting the zipper tie is an easy process;
To start with, take hold of the small end of the tie and the knot. Once you have done so, you can slide the zipper up by holding the small end firmly and sliding the knot up.
With the simple locking mechanism of the zipper tie, adjusting the tie to fit your neck comfortably is easy. With the tie in place, the zipper will remain in that fixed position with an easily controllable yet firm grip.

Where function meets fashion, You always have a perfect knot with a Zipper tie; !
Business Week USA reported over 100,000 Zipper ties were sold last year.

A Zipper Tie is a:
Pre-knotted neckwear that goes over the head and fits snuggly to the neck by way of a zipper on the back of the tie.
Zipper Ties are very convenient for people who are always in a hurry, and from a security aspect, they have the advantage of a quick release mechanism.

How to use a Zipper Tie
To put on a zipper tie in 2 seconds, follow these two easy steps.

1 Hold the knot with one hand, lift up clip behind knot and use the other hand to open loop freely.

2 Place the loop over the head, then hold inner tie tail with other hand and use the other hand to slide the knot upwards. When the tie is in the right position, secure tie by pressing down on clip

If you took a small percentage of the time and effort you've spent defending your ridiculous position, you could have learned to tie a tie.

There is no such thing as an awesome/cool/good/trendy/fashionable/distinguished clip on tie. Clip on ties look cheap and childish. No self respecting person wears a clip on tie, and thinks they look good wearing one. They are made of crappy materials are not made to last, because the people they are made for (kids/rentals) don't care about the durability or the look.

Just forget the tie altogether.

A good suit and shirt & you're fine.

Too often those who never wear a suit jacket, but shirt & tie look like interns, desktop support or there to fix the photocopier.

I don't own a suit. I have in the past and they go out of style between wears for me so it's not worth owning.
